Hi and welcome!
No, its different. Army and corps are both stack that have a special relation between them.
Division are just units (formed by other units you put "inside" as you know).
To have divisions in a corps you just have to put them in a cops stack. As any other unit (brigades, batteries, leaders...)
Also you can use them in standard stacks (called independent commands) the ones which are no army or corps stacks.

No, you can only form corps under the area of influence of an army stack.
Of course, latter you can take the cops stack away, but if you abandon the area of your army you will lose the advantages (or disadvantages) given by your army commander.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Seems kinda strange to me though that you can't associate divisions to corps since that seemed to be how it was done in the Civil War, at least in the theater's with large army/corp structures You'd think that by looping a large division into this command structure you could get some kind off additional CP support. Just an opinion, though.

You do get a CP support: The Corps.

Hi
Of course you can assign divisions to corps, but its done directly by putting them on the corps stacks. In this way they will get on the command structure as you say and gain advantages form his cops commander which in turn gain advantages form his army commanding.
What i was trying to explain is that the mechanism is different that the army/corps relation.
Divisions (and other smaller units like regiments and brigades) are the building blocks of the stacks (group of units) which can be army stacks, corp stacks (related between them) or simple independent stacks (not related with other stacks).
Any of this kinds of stacks can have divisions inside. But putting them in the chain of command (army/corps) is much more effective because of the command points use and the advantages given by the corps and army leaders.
But on secondary fronts it is also convenient to use them on independent stacks, as you don't have as much organized armies as you would like and have and yo must use them them on the main fronts (Virginia, Tennesse...)

Don't know if this makes ant sense... :bonk: :niark:
