TO be honest something like this should be added to the diplomatic engine including for AI allies. As the french I have often ended up with my Bavarian or Wurttembergian allies turning into Gruyère because whereas I was at peace with Austria and Prussia they were still at war with one of them (the whole dynamic of minor / alliance / major war needs fixing btw) and had to sign a peace giving up such and such while I could only watch. Fast forward a few months when I trash Austria or Prussia again, and I can't take Passau or Bayreuth back to give them to Bavaria for example.. If i take them, I have to keep them !
Really there is a flaw there tbh.
