A. When you start a scenario under the 'New' menu a new folder is created under your '..\My Documents\My Games\Wars of Napoleon\NGC\Saves' folder with the default name of the scenario. In your case '6 - 1805 Sealion What IF Campaign'.
B. Immediately after creating this scenario, or anytime afterwards, you can always rename the scenario. To do this, go to the 'Load' menu, select your scenario and click on the 'Saved Game manipulations' [gear] button in the upper right corner of the pop-up, then the 'Rename the game in selection' [pencil] button; enter the name of the scenario and press <Enter> or click on the check-mark button.
This renames the '..\Saves\{scenario name}' folder created in A. above and all file names below it.
C. After the execution of each turn, all the files belonging to running that turn are moved to the 'Backup1' folder beneath the '..\Saves\{scenario name}' folder created in A. If the 'Backup1' folder already exists, it is moved to 'Backup2', 'Backup2' to 'Backup3', etc, up to the number of backups you have selected under 'Options' menu -> System -> Auto-saved Turns. Up to 12 saves may be selected.
D. If you wish to turn the clock back in your game to redo a previous turn and continue from there, you can do as Ace as described.
The game does not support saving a scenario into a different name, which you can then load under that name as a separate scenario. It is possible to do that, but it's a non-supported possibility and you must manipulate the Saves folder content manually with a file manager such as Windows Explorer, *cough*cough*or a good file manager such as Total Commander*cough*.
- Manually create a '..\My Documents\My Games\Wars of Napoleon\NGC\Saves\{scenario name}' folder with any unique name; eg 'ZZZZ'.
- Copy the entire contents of '..\Saves\{scenario name}' into '..\Saves\ZZZZ'.
- Enter the '..\Saves\ZZZZ' folder, locate the .hst file and rename it to a unique name you wish to use--not a saved scenario name already used in the game!!-- eg. rename for example '6 - 1805 Sealion What IF Campaign.hst' to 'Sealion Test 01.hst'
- Open the 'Load' menu and select 'Sealion Test 01'.
- Click on 'Gear' -> 'Pencil' -> [check mark]--You must do this!!--. You may also select a different name at this point, before clicking the check-mark.
If you understand the BackupX folders well enough to understand what turn is in which BackupX folder, you can also use the above procedure to break-out that turn into its own saved scenario, but instead of copying the entire '..\My Documents\My Games\Wars of Napoleon\NGC\Saves\{scenario name}' folder into the new folder in 2. above, copy only the content of the BackupX folder into the new folder, while maintaining all the other steps as described.
