It is not 100% certain it will be ready for 2010... Sorry guys... Things have to be done rights. Now perhaps it will be, but don't hold your breath.

The game looks amazing - I just wonder how long will it take to prepare a turn for a major power.

This game covers several decades, right? So there will be events for the deaths and resignations, and retirements of generals, right?

Depends if you are at war of not. There is less combat units on average per major nation than there is for AACW, as the scale is higher. As for commerce, you can set transactions to carry on indefinitely. Industrialization? You won't spawn steel mills every turn too ...

Actually this is not handled by events (that would be too scripted) but with a whole new dynamic system of retirements, sudden deaths, provisional leaders lists and whatever is needed :neener:

Better wait for this game six months more than previously expected, provided the game is six times better than previously expected. ;)

So that banner at the top of the forums that keeps flashing "2009" is wrong?

it's going to be 2011 guys: http://www.paradoxplaza.com/press/2010/5/paradox-interactive-updates-2010-release-dates

In unrelated news, I have the bad feeling that victoria 2 will be half broken at release.

Oh come on - it's a Paradox game - best served with two expansion that will make it a truely epic.

It seems to be scheduled for August like Hoi3 one year ago...so knowing the state of Hoi3 upon release, we just have to praise there isn't a kind of "August Malediction" on Paradox's games. ;)

At least, VGN won't be half-broken and will be the best it could be as it is released.

Oooooh, France vs Sweden... not seen this since 1648. :D . Did they ever actually fight each other? Either way, wrong game forum. :p

There was a song..
"istanbul was constantinople
now it's istanbul, not constantinople
been a long time gone, constantinople
now it's turkish delight on a moonlit night

every gal in constantinople
lives in istanbul, not constantinople
so if you've got a date in constantinople
she'll be waiting in istanbul

even old new york
was once new amsterdam
why they changed it i can't say
people just liked it better that way

so take me backto constantinople
no, you can't go back to constantinople
been a long time gone, constantinople
why did constantinople get the works?
that's nobody's business but the turks!"

as said in song no constantinople, i respect every culture that gave that name, greek or turkish, but historically it was not called "constantinople," at that time ;) ,it was very long before...
