It doesn't really matter if you're not hosting, though.

1.14 is better than 1.13b, in my opinion. Plays well so far.

+1. I'm playing with QF2 as the CSA on easy difficulty/normal aggression and the AI is pulling some amazing moves. Like it attacked me in force in the Shenandoah to force me to pull some units over there so it could attack me around Manassas and Fredericksburg. Its units have to be shot to hell, though, but that's pretty impressive play.

Yeah, they come harder and in strength, and at the proper objectives in 1861. AI North seems a lot better. Better focus on the major objectives perhaps.

Remember to completely uninstall the current installation. Patches do not work in reverse.

Does this file contain the latest quickfix that was published after the initial 1.13 patch release ?

If not, would it be possible to add it ?

Missing Skirmisher ability for Cavalry

Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:37 am

Two little reports :

- I don't know if you already noticed that, but since i'm playing with the 1.14 + HotFix2 French version in PBEM (Apri/Kentucky scenario with a cleared new install'), i don't have anymore and anywhere displayed the blue Skirmisher ability for Cavalry units. Is it a bug or was this ability introduced in the 1.12 patch cancelled in purpose ?

- Like other here, i also noticed that there is no displayed differences between the number of days needed let's says to a fleet going to Mobile from NY and the same fleet with a leader with the 25% "speed ability".

I have Quick Fix 11 for 1.13, if you'd like it. E-mail me.

Yes, the cavalry Skirmisher ability was deleted in 1.14.
Many abilities are "broken", including Master Logistician and Seaman. You just have to live with it until they can get fixed

I suppose this means we can't expect a fixed 1.14 for some time? :cursing:

Cavalry skirmisher ability though properly designed was removed because it was not working, nor could it work except for leader units according to Pocus. Leaving the icon in place was misleading to game players therefore it had to be removed also.

Hmmm... Pocus, i have an idea :w00t: : what about to give to ALL leaders a Cavalry skirmisher ability that apply only in a force with cavalry (like the 25% bonus speed for cavalry ability)...
OK that's not perfect (des "bouts de ficelles") and it don't include the forces without leaders, but it's maybe better than nothing.

I'll need some days to check the possible crashes reported in the support line, and then a new patch will be done, if needed. No feature addition though!

The Union 3 element bde's consisting of two infantry regiments, and a sharpshooter company still cannot be brigaded with a commander. I posted this in the beta thread way before this thing went official.

edit: can't find the beta thread anymore...there are saves for this bug posted there. :bonk:

with the draft options for the with kentucky i have played this in PBEM against an opponent and have found this always to function fine and expand the game length considerably due too the fairness of the option.

edit: i know others have vrs this opponent also played and would wonder what they have to say on the issue.
