Don't knock yourself out, I get that a lot...

Chertio wrote:I too had to switch off UAC in Vista to re-install the patch and enter my serial key, and once installed, with UAC on I get v1.03 reported, with UAC off v1.04.
But under both "versions" I have the new Fronts map mode filter.
I wonder how much of the software is different under the two "versions"...
[Edit #1] Under Program Files|AgeOD|World War One I have a WW1.ini dated {today}14:38 with setting GameVersion="1.0.4"
Under {User Account}|AppData|Local|VirtualStore|Program Files|AgeOD|World War One I have a WW1.ini dated {today}14:46 and GameVersion="1.0.3"
Otherwise both .ini files look identical.
[Edit #2] Replaced the four .ini files in {User Account}|...World War One and the five .seq files in {User Account)...|Data|AI|Behaviours (also adding NavalOptions.seq which wasn't in the {User Account}...|Behaviours folder) from the Program Files tree.
Hasn't crashed yet...
Chertio wrote:I am puzzled that I installed the patch twice, first with UAC, second with UAC turned off, and it does not seem to have updated the files in the {User Account} folders correctly either time.
But no need for zips, I'm sure it is just a freak of my settings-probably Vista has decided I'm not competent enough to really have control of my own PC.
Thank you for the links about UAC and virtual store, all is clearer.
As for Calvinus' suggestion "So we send B.Gates to..."seconded!

Calvinus: Please, get rid of those %* Divx codecs (although I admit that this is probably not your main problem, now...:bonk

FFDSHOW is a DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DivX, XviD, H.264, FLV1, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, MPEG-4 movies. It uses libavcodec from ffmpeg project for video decompression, postprocessing code from mplayer to enhance visual quality of low bitrate movies, and is based on original DirectShow filter from XviD, which is GPL'ed educational implementation of MPEG4 encoder.

4. A question: I know front-line corps should be cycled out every other round of combat in combat resolution screen. Now what about arty, tanks and Stormtroops?

As I am at the office for the next couple of hours you might probably provide calvinus with a save showing this problem?! We don't want to have him running idle just because I am at the office![]()

In the naval battle screen the engage-attack-up-front-box (where you place your ships round after round of battle) has two rows.
1. Is this just to have more ships participate, or
2. do the two rows represent different distance to the enemy (apart from the S-M-L range per combat round), with consequences for e.g. placing damaged ships?

However when I run the program regularly it still says im at 1.3. I tried running the program as an administrator and it says my Serial Key is invalid!![]()
Edit: Reinstalled it and repatched without UAC on and it is still saying my Serial Key is invalid. Now I can't play it period.![]()

But, when I try to load a scenario, after it loads the scenario fully I get a CTD. Immediatly. Every time. Every Scenario. Don't even get passed the loading screen. Im getting fed up at this point.![]()
