Help with screen captures

Thu May 21, 2009 2:39 pm

Help,
I would like to do an AAR (just to illustrate how badly a human can be beaten by Athena), and I would like to add pictures. How do I screen capture for use in Word? Thanks in advance.

Hi!

To capture a screenshot in game just hit the Print Scrn key on your keyboard. That will store what's on the screen on the windows clip board.
Then you juts have alt+tab to the desktop and "paste" (control+V) the image it on the word document or your favourite photo editing program.

To upload pictures at the forum i recommend you to use some image program and to convert them to jpg format so they get smaller in size.

I use any of this two excellent and completely free programs for this

Irfanview (very simple and easy to use)

Paint.net (very complete and powerfull. Almost like a free Photoshop) :coeurs :)

Well, for my AARs, I use Materializer. It allows you to assign a specific key to take screen captures automatically, the format of the resulting image (jpg, png, etc), assign the name that you want to put them (for example: AAR_CSA_) and in which folder you want to save them.
The progam automatically puts all your images in there numbering them 1, 2, 3 and so on (AAR_CSA_1, AAR_CSA_2, etc).
So, later, when you quit, you can start editing them with any image editing program.
This allows you to avoid doing ALT+TAB constantly to copy & paste... you just concentrate on playing and at the same time, you take all the images that you want. ;)

There are a lot of programs out there that do a similar thing and are more user friendly and/or newer.
