You can rename anything but Army HQ stacks, as their name has some special properties. For the rest, it is free game... The procedure is to alt-click on a force tab, to get a new window.

How it works:

a) as long as you have a renamed force, the game engine will never rename it by itself.

b) if you empty the string (by invoking again the window and deleting the name), then auto-renaming is back.

It seems like this is to sensitive. Is it supposed to be double click, because every time I'm clicking certain units the rename box pops up.

Joking aside, I agree and would love to see this "super annoying cosmetic issue" looked at :siffle:

BTW, mentioning Gettysburg, is the absence of Hood in Longstreet corps corrected in this patch ?? (sorry, I have not had much time lately to play and see for myself :p leure: )

He got you! It was Worchestershire, AC. :niark:

Seriously, Stonewall did a mod based on getting this right last summer, and I think Jagger's mod may have incorporated that work or something similar.

Let's be consistent, and start spelling Pamlico without the 'e' in the game and on the forum, wherever possible. :innocent:

I noticed last night that the version of my graphics mod that made it into the public beta patch was my first try, and had problems with blank portraits. These were fixed in later versions. I'll check this official patch tonight.

One thing that's a little bit frustrating is somehow I got stuck in naming mode last night. I didn't figure out how to disable it until I came here and saw I have to press ALT.

Gray,
Did the Rodes and Schofield fix make it into this update?

I checked it and Hood is still missing from 1st Corps, and is not present at all in the roster. (see attached). Note that this is so from the beginning, it is not 1.11 patch specific. I noticed it many months ago, but I never have played this scenario much - too short, not really a true representation of Gettysburg battle, etc

This scenario would be greatly improved if, rather than starting the forces poised around Gettysburg, instead have the forces as they historically were positioned in early June (e.g., the ANV around and to the west of Fredericksburg), then specify Gettysburg and possibly other places north as VP objectives. (Fixing the original too-slow movement rates makes reaching Gettysburg by early July newly possible.) Is there any rule that says this original-game scenario is immutable, that we have to honor and keep to its original design?

I'll look into doing that.
As for the Scenario as it was , All I did was redo the Military control and changed VP locations. I did not alter the existing OOB.I will check on these other OOB issues and send Gray a new file for the existing scenario first before starting a longer version of the scenario.

Redid the Gettysburg OOB and file submitted to Gray_Lensman.
Deleted the Union div HQ.
Added Hoods division to Longstreets Corps.

Thanks for the feedback.

Edit: I just reduced the starting strengths for the Gettysburg scenario.
the Rebs now start at a strength of 73,233 and the Union at a strength of 92,333

Now that the contest is over, I didn't find this one in the beta forum: Ctrl + F brings up a region search box.

It's not perfect yet... :( I tried "J e f f e r s o n" and all I get is Jefferson, PA... doesn't allow for Jefferson, MO. Since I live close to Jefferson, MO, this was a slightly disappointing.

2 Bugs in this patch

Fri Aug 29, 2008 12:34 am

I think I have discovered 2 bugs that need fixing in this otherwise excellent patch.

1 - When holding the shift key while making a "scout", the units do not move. I sent Quantrill from Springfield out to Lawrence and Ft. Smith, Kansas and back, but he did not go. Ditto for the Waite's Cherokees when making a circuit route on a raid. I have the evade button on, so they should have destroyed supplies in enemy controlled [unoccupied] towns, but they did not. That's because they didn't go! :p leure:

2 - I notice - for the first time that I can remember - seeing the partisans and light infantry in the irregular CSA force pool - after the Partisan Act event. However, the light infantry I ordered up, do not appear. Tried on two turns, but Nada. There were 4 units there before I ordered them, and 4 units there after [in the reinforcement screen] - nowhere to be found on the map or in the message screen.

Hi
A spanish player has reported the exactly the same problem: strange recruitable new units, some of them not appearing after buying.
I sent the files to AGEOD last night. Let's see what they find...

About your number 1... i´m not 100% sure but... was the shortcut key for these kind of circular moves got changed on some previous patch?
I seem to recall it conflicted with another new function introduced on a later patch and got changed...
But i can be wrong... its early in the morning here and i'm still half sleep... :niark:
Regards!

I should note that the bushwackers and partisans seem to be ok ... it's just the light infantry that don't show up.

As for the feature that allows a unit to make a round-trip by holding the shift key, that is definitely broken. Tried with a fleet, as well, and it did not work.

Very nice, I like alot. Will this work for units also, or only groups of units?

Hello, I have started a new game under the new patch as a Union player. The confederates attacked Bowling Green in Kentucky but the "Confederates invade Kentucky" event did not happen. And the loyalty of Kentucky remained at 48%? Has this event been removed?
