Having slow game start-ups and long turn resolution?

Here's a simple solution that worked for me:

Take off your CPU cover and spray every nook and cranny - particularly by fans, fan covers, and vents - with a can of DustBlaster, or other such product. Get rid of all that dust that accumulates over time in there. Put your cover back on and load up your game.

My AACW now completely loads before the intro song is even done playing. Turn resolution really flies by!

Keeping your PC's innards clean of dust doesn't so much improve performance BUT it does keep your PC's performance up where it is supposed to be. Too much dust will cause heat build up, in which case your CPU may throttle down its speed resulting in more sluggish computer. If you have anything overclocked in particular, accumulating too much dust will have these components running too hot causing you to back down on your OC settings. Generally a good habit to get into every month or so. It's amazing how quickly dust and fluff (especially if you have a cat) builds up inside the case and just blowing the exterior vents does nothing to clear it.

Nothing dodgy about spraying compressed air in the internals of a computer to clear out the dust. This is standard PC maintenance that any good technician would advise.
