Don't want this one to get lost. Anyone else notice?

Playing clean install of 1.10d with mod 20080712 as USA vs. AI. New game, starting Apr 61. During both of first two turns, both blockade boxes said "25%" even though I had not declared a blockade. In game just prior to this one, blockade boxes never varied from 25%, no matter how many or few ships I put in them (played about 10 turns in '61).

Gray not sure if it is in stock or your great mod but Massachusetts Bay being "Ocean" strands (Monitor "CT") high and dry. :p leure:

Perhaps it is a "known issue" but having discovered it the hard way myself I thought I would bring it up here.

Thanks for all your efforts making a classic game, supported by a first class company, even better!

Gray;

Yes you are correct. I decided to build two Monitor"CT" units and they both showed up side by side in Boston. Just learning the ropes against Athena.

No worries though it is still a good 25 years prior to those darn Red Sox starting to play baseball so they at least won't be cheering them on while they roam the waterfront! :)

I had a thought about railroads.

I understand your point on using the start of the war but on the other hand there was a LOT of RR building during the war years and a lot of really important lines were completed.

Obviously the best solution would be for the game system to allow players to build these lines but support for this is not on the horizon. As a possible solution for at least some key lines I could these start on the map but in the destroyed state?

Then to "build" them you would need to repair these lines. If we could set the line to have a high repair difficulty that would be even better.

I realize that this would only allow for a whole region solution to the problem but it might still be worth considering.

That's some nice thinking outside the box, Tomm :)

Gray,
your work is great and highly appreciated. You did more than was thought possible within the limits of AACW.
I have practically no time to play AACW but I still think it merits respect for all the work (mostly free....) involved in making it better.

Well I wasn't trying to task you with anything. just was wondering if this would even work.

Obviously you would still have all of the RRs that are ever going ot be in the game defined on the map, so no dymaic creation.

It would also be all or nothing in regards to a area, no new spurs etc. so it
would have limited application.

Grey I think Port Huron needs a rail connection to Detroit I was researching this tonight I found that a line connecting the two was complete November 21 1859: Chicago, Detroit & Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railway finishes Detroit Junction to Fort Gratiot (Port Huron) line. The road initially uses the Michigan Central's Third Street Station, via a connection at Grand Trunk Junction (West Detroit). [MDOT/AAD/MCR-75/MRC-6/1973]]

Also the Connection from Port Huron to Ontario in Canada was over a rail Ferry on the current set up the rail road is connected from Port Huron to Canada Maybe it shouldn't be connected because of the ferry? I'm Guessing both sides had Ferry's so maybe it should be connected.

Gray_Lensman wrote:No. The rail link is not broken. The rail line goes thru the town of Front Royal which is actually located just to the north in Clarke, VA (117) which connects directly to Shenandoah, VA (1486).

Note: Front Royal has always been part of Clarke, VA since last year, though it is somewhat hard to discern on the standard map.

O.K I see that now. For some reson I could'nt use the rail line in a quick test I was doing. Not sure what happened there.
