I must be dreaming here, but will throw this out anyway: if you can have seperate versions of the same scenario in one and two week turns, could you have a campaign scenario with two week turns Winter and one week turns summer?
Just asking, not requesting :-)

No, the time "span" should be homogeneous...in the scenarios, it is calculated by giving as an indication the number of turns per year (12 = monthly, 24 = fortnightly, 48 = weekly)...that means turns have a similar length in number of days...we can't mix different durations...sorry :indien:

Is this normal for someone having never played a game like this (coming for first person shooters mostly like Halo and call of duty) do I just lack the brain power to put it all together or is there something that can help me. Its almost as if I need to look over someone's shoulder and do a step by step walk through

I jumped right into the April '61 campaign ... haven't played anything else [other than tutorials]. The game is complex, but most of the complexities are "under the hood," so to speak. If you love the era and love strategy, just stick with it. A light bulb WILL go on! I bought the game when it first came out, and still I am learning [alot!]. The game does not grow old, and that is one of the reasons.

Carry on!
