Do you have the filename? Even if you are based in Florida, would you use by any chance a non western version of Windows (Asian, Russian etc.) ?

Are you using Vista?

Hi pocus, I believe I have a western version of windows (will double check), I am using windows xp and the installation goes into error when it starts loading the units, I am at work now but can check the filename when I get home to see on exactly what file the installation hangs up on.
Thanks. :sourcil:

Ok, so it is after installation, when you run the game? Perhaps an improper install, for a cause unknown for now. In this case, post the logs.txt file please.

No it is during installation, I load the disk it starts to run and download the game, after a few seconds it will show an error message that says "An error occured while trying to create a file in the destination directory." it stops while it is installing the file acw\Gamedata\Regions\296clark,GA.rgn then it will let me either abort, retry or ignore. if i retry nothing happens if I ignore it will ask me the same thing every file after that. so I am not able to go very far into the installation. so I am not sure how to proceed. :siffle:

You have enough free space on your hard disk?

perhaps the setup file is corrupted? So it is a physical copy you bought, we can provide you with a link (800 + MB) to the setup file if you want to try that.

About your hard drive, what is the size of each partition? All setups use space on C: before writing for real the files in another drive. (and because Windows (tm) (c) is Windows (tm) (c), they even leave temporary files after it finishes working  )

just open the desktop icon where all your drives (hard-drive, floppy or flash drive) are listed, and you should see the remaining amount of them.

Please send me the request (referencing this thread) to pmalacher@age-studio.com with your serial key (or the scan of the proof of purchase, whatever you prefer) then.

Here is what I see: C: 228GB Total Space -96.5GB Free Space, D: Total space 4.08GB - 1.38GB Free space. I will email you my serial key. Thanks.

Pocus, got your email, downloaded exe, and it had the same error my hard copy had, which makes me think maybe there is something with my computer that causes the problem since two different exe's didnt work. Although this is the first game I have ever had with an installation problem. :8o:

you are sure you are installing the game on C:, not on D: ? Aside from a lack of disk space, I don't see why a file would not be written.
