So I captured an Army HQ...

Fri May 30, 2008 2:37 am

So I get into a scuffle in upper Mississippi with my A.S. Johnston-led Army of the Tennessee, against a Rosencrans-led Army of the West. Although I came out on top, I lost Johnston to injury and my army HQ. However, I managed to capture Rosecrans' army HQ (!). I waited a few turns for Johnston to get out of the hospital, only to notice that Bragg now has 3 stars and #1 seniority! So I have the option to form an army with the captured HQ with Bragg as the army leader. As soon as I do, the game bombs out. Are you even supposed to be able to capture an HQ? I'll attach my save so you guys can check it out :)

Hi!

Never seen a captured HQ before :bonk:
BUt enemy arty/wagons can be used... the problem with them is that they can't recover losses.

This is probably similar to the reason that captured artillery units can't be used

Are you sure of this?

I'll check why the game crash, thanks.

I guess the HQ is captured because it was an unit with an hq + arty and the arty got tested for capture... it is better to not have anything in an hq unit definition imho.

Bragg as an Army Commander - dont do it - go to medicine cabinet first - or go to pub and think about it.
