Is there any chance to mod the map?

I'm considering an 1848 mod if possible, but I'd go a little more into details there

One of the secret of modding is to start small. We saw many with major projects from the start and so far ...

So I would advise you to start creating a scenario or even altering one and see if you feel like doing something bigger. My 2 eurocents!

Just trying to determine whether or not it is possible to do. If it is impossible, it is pointless to go any further. I never modded NPC, but did quite a lot of modding in other strategy games, even worked on total conversions.

Bottomline: if it is technically feasible, to use a smaller but more detailed map, it is worth considering to dig deeper and start working on it, but if not, this particular idea will have to wait for a more convenient product.

Oh ok. Then the answer is yes. Take a random bitmap, use the map utility to define regions, then define the areas of the region and here you are, with a brand new thing.
