Jabber's probably deeply buried in maps, TO&E's and logistics estimates in his office in the White House... :D

Apologies to all -

I had some issues with my HD last week. I will post pictures, including jackfox's latest work, by Thursday morning. I will also send them to Pocus.

Here are 24 recolored, sharpened, repositioned, and reframed (in some cases almost completely redone) pictures. They are mostly from '61, some early '62s. Also included are 4 new '63 generals by jackfox, and one he reworked (Hiram Berry).

I used the fast install setup again, you can just extract them straight into the ACW folder. However, the models for the new ones may overwrite Leader Mod model files, if you are using that.

As always, please let me know of any issues. I will send them to Pocus as soon as any issues have been resolved.

EDIT: 7/30 - changed models for jackfox's pictures, to be compatible with 1.10 format. This is the same procedure mp84 used below. All these are also available in post #4 of this thread.

**Version 2, fixed the minor mispelling error on one of the .mdl files**

Greetings Everyone,

With the permission of Jabber, I have taken the liberty to replace the generic portraits of the generals in the vanilla 1.10 models folder, to the actual pictures of those generals that Jabber has found.

In otherwords, I've only edited the portraits line of each of the .mdl files for those generals who did not have a portrait, so this is compatiable with the 1.10 recently released patch. (Which seems to have some updates of their own within the .mdl files..)

Hopefully everyone likes this :) , now keep in mind, you will still need to download all of Jabber's available Portraits on this thread. As this is just the models folder..

Instructions:
Backup your GameData/models just in case!
1) Download all the 61,62,63, and lastest updated portraits on this thread..
2) Open those folders up, and ONLY extract the .png files to your ACW dir, (In otherwords, do not extract the .MDL files, but everything else)
3) Finally, download this updated CSA-USA 1.10.zip folder, open it, and extract its contents into the ACW dir as well. (They should all go into its proper place, and overwrite the .mdl files as well)

*** While, the game should not crash with this fast install procedure, however, if it does, simply extract the Updated CSA-USA 1.10.zip to a seperate folder, then go into your ACW dir. and delete the gamedata/Models folder, then go ahead and place the new models folder into the ACW directory. ***

And there we have it, once again big thanks to Jabber and Jackfox for all their hardwork, as we are getting closer to having historical pictures for every general in the game, so keep up the great work!

Who are the four new generals? I saw Rousseau and Fry but didn't see a graphic for Wilder. I couldn't determine who was the last new general.

i'm a little confused about the archive posted by mp84 :8o:
I think the previous leader portraits and the new ones as well would be compatible with the 1.10 patch... i'm i wrong?? :bonk:
I have installed them over 1.10 and everything looks OK, but i have not played much, just take a look around... :siffle:

Regards
PS: the new and redone portraits looks awesome! :coeurs:

I think Jabber and or Jackfox should shed some light on this issue asap. I also have simply dowloaded Jabber's update and applied it (using JSGME, just to be sure :siffle :) over 1.10. Seems ok, but have not played much, either. I personally will not be downloading/installing mp84 files until I understand what they are and Jabber speaks on this.

Apparently there are some new fields in the models table of the 1.10 DB. I'm not sure what they are. mp84 has edited the new model files which include those fields, so that they show the graphics.

The other two are Foster and Barnes. Sorry, Fry is '63; the rest are '62.

The Wilder army graphic is not showing? Is the default leader pic showing, or is it completely blank? What about the graphic in the units panel?

If you are using 1.10, I personally would go ahead and use his work. I will upgrade in the next day or two and check it out myself if you want to wait. Once I check it out, I will incorporate his work directly into the regular download files. The portraits themselves are compatable, I don't expect the changes to the models were so drastic as to preclude using the old files temporarily.

Hi Jabber. Still using your old graphics mod.

Playing leader mod, I found some days ago commodore Josiah Tatnall had no portrait, a "generic no face" one was put instead.

I dont remember this commodore playing vanilla, so sure is not on your priority list.

But... some "mod-generals" such as Lloyd Tilghman, Nathan Evans, Mansfield Lovell, George Crittenden and some others got a standard figure with a face

Also, other non vanilla get some portraits, such as : John Mc Cown, J Withers, John Mc Cown and so on.

Just asking myself, perhaps there is not a "generic" naval command portrait... and a standard one should be done :siffle:

Or perhaps I am missing some thing :bonk:

The graphics download has Foster, Rousseau, Fry and Barnes but is missing Wilder.

Ya, Jabber hit the answer on the nail there.. That's basically what I did, honestly. I'm not sure how much of change the new tables in the .mdl file do, but I'd figure it be a lot easier for everyone, to have those updated portaits in there with the newest patch.

Basically, I took about 30-45 minutes of my time to do it, and since Jabber would eventually do the samething anyway, I'd figure since I did it, I'd post it up for everyone to have already, with his permission of course ! :)

Now by all means Jabber, look at it to make sure I did everything correct, but I'm sure I did, since all I did was only edit the line for the portrait. :)

The new leaders from the leader mod are on my list, but the vanilla ones have to take priority. The leaders from the LM that you named certainly deserve to have their faces shown. I will see what I can do about changing Tatnall to something else tonight, that should be fairly easy, just a quick edit to the model.

McCown and Withers are vanilla, just obscure. I think they are both in the '62 generals pool.

Wilder should be included already in the '63 zip at the top of the thread. Is he not there?

Yes, Wilder is in the 63 at the top of the thread.

When I last downloaded 63, he wasn't in there. Nor in yesterday's bunch. But I now have him in from the top of the thread. Thanks!

There were also 6 new leaders added in 1.10.
UID 699-704
These leaders are for the Kentucky Scenario which will be posted soon.

Great work on the Mod guys........

mp84 -
I checked out your files. I noticed one small problem. The name of file 562 is 562R.Schenk.mdl (no space) instead of 562R. Schenk.mdl (with a space)

That means the original file doesn't get overwritten. Having two 562 mdl files causes the game to crash on startup. Can you rename that one and repost, at least until I have time to fully integrate your work into my d/l's? Thanks.

All -
Looking at the Confederates in my update I noticed that I misnamed the new unit pic for Charlie Winder (the old one still shows), and that his army pic is got sharpened a little too much. I didn't update John Floyd or Milledge Bonham. Also, Zollicoffer's new picture, while reframed, now looks fuzzy compared with those around it. I will fix these issues before sending to Pocus.

Ahh, doh!, gotya, I get out of work by 5:30, so I'll be home by 6PM EST, and I'll update it then and repost..

That name is familiar too, If I remember correctly, that was the only one, I accidently deleted the renaming file, by copying the previous file, was like doh, and thought I put it exactly the way it was, but forgot the space!, in the meantime, I will take down the link till I fix it when I get back home.

thanks,

I did review my files and had yet this .mdl

1021 CSAJ. Tatnall

My last mdl was 1036. Dodge

Perhaps the space is the problem as you posted before. Ill try without it.

Working on officialization and incorporating mp84s work today/tonight. I'll try to post new downloads and email Pocus by morning (12 hours). At that point it should all be fully compatible with 1.10a.
