CSA AI is taking offensive in this end of October 61:

- in the East, Athena seems to be targeting Washington:

Image

Johnston whipped the Bank's corps:

Image

In kentucky, CSA seized Bowling Green:

Image

Assault led by the other Johnston...One of the 3 possible A.S. Johnston, this one being a little better than in the vanilla version...

Kentucky is yet almost wholly in Confederate hands:

Image

And the Lexington (KY) battle hasn't change much to that bad situation:

Image

Losses for both sides appear to be rather similar as in reality...

Sibley has taken offensive too across the wide Missouri:

Image

And Stand Watie is leading his Indian warriors into Kansas:

Maybe i was mistaken and what the Ai can't (or usually don'tdo) is detach brigaded leaders to form divisions :siffle:

Any ETA on when you will post a corrected version of your files ? (although this bug may not affect much the game, to me it is extremely annoying...)

You will have to wait...a little as I plan to release a new version with several other fixes I've yet to make.

The CSA advance on Washington during the first turn of November 61 is slowed by rear guard action:

Image

A several day battle around Lexington (Kentucky) is won with slight margin by CSA:

Nelson died before reinforcments entered the field:

But this counterstroke wasn't sufficient in the end to give Lexington to me:

Generals picture

Thu Apr 03, 2008 8:39 am

Clovis,
Could you perhaps add the '61 '62 '63 generals pictures from the generals mod to yours. I've done it myself but got an issue. I'll try testing them out.
So far everything looks good. One thing, I'm able to buy a kyenter in '62 when I already bought one in '61. I'm also getting a lot of issues with corps commanders never leaving the 'unable to issue orders'. I'm having to seperate divisions from the corps stack to put them on the offensive. I've also got one gereral who has 'this is a static unit'. I'll get full details to you soon.

Generals mod: I've added yet a large part. I plan to add the recent ones indeed.

Kyenter: I will indeed have to add events removing thes "units" .

Give me more info about the rest..

Thanks for the input. :coeurs:

Clov do you mean your mod encompasses the leader mod as well?

BTW did you stop a second to look at the $/res/WS and buy prices for reinf/rep along with the revenues generated by blockade runners and u.s. shipping?

I think it's a must to tackle these things totally upside down in my opinion in Vanilla game.

Am in Bucharest now, can't wait to go back to Italy to start playing again and would love to start with your mod.

PS any chance that this bug spawning those troops in UK is the same that spawns troops in Missouri? U might find that solving this also solves a prob in St. Louis where u are sieged there and if you buy troops they spawn out of your besieged city :)

I was talking about the Generals pictures, not the leaders mod, however leaders mod would be a great addition. I think the modders should join forces and attack the North (oops ;) )

from leadermod
In this version of the mod McDowell, Butler, Banks and Fremont have been reduced to two star rank. Thus, there are only two Union generals eligible to command armies in 1861, and they are Halleck and McClellan.

What this means is that now when the Union player forms his first army, he will NEED McClellan to come east and take command of the eastern army, and McDowell can assume his historical role as a corps commander in McClellan's army. McClellan becomes The Indispensable Man that he should be in 1861.

However in coming fury, Butler is a 3* 2-0-0, Scott 4* 3-3-3 and McCellan 2) 1-1-2, so perhaps leadermod isnt fully integrated. Even when the McCellan promoted event happens, with those stats its pretty pointless using him.
:siffle:

Actually i did comparison and the stats are the same in leadermod and this mod, so i'll have to look more into it.

ah yes, the butler model on comparison is different,
LeaderRank 2 in leadermod and 3 in this mod.

i suppose this is the reason
8) The mod is using the current leaders mod made by Winfield S Hancock and Ruynan99. There are more and more slight changes here and there. I uess some will be controversial ( J.E. Johnston by example)but I'm ready to create tailored files for those wanting to get other values ;- )

Used leader mod as a base, but as anyone, I've some feelings about Civil War leader ratings.... :niark:

Curious... I delayed Shurtz entry to 1862 and removed him from 1861 events...Who are the others? I didn't got that in my tests...

Another bug

Sun Apr 06, 2008 10:09 am

When I group units into divisions under some commanders the unit pictures change, e.g I collected a lot of artillery units and put into one division under Mansfield, when i mouse over mansfield in the unit list, it shows pictures of infantry battalions.

Are you playing with the April 61 scenario ? Or with the July 61 one? My mod is currently only playable with April 61 scenario....

Yes its J uly 61' damn,
I think the original error was in the April one.
Different things happen in different games. I'm always playing the full Scenario.
I'll paste screens of the unit card issues.
Can you issue a patch yet :) , pretty please. :innocent:

I plan to upload the 0.95 version at the beginning of the next week.

I've refined today the Kentucky events ( at last, Camp Dick Robinson will be correctly placed on map).

I've yet to achieve creation of new infantry units for both sides for the 1862 and after period, to create historical units for Eastern theater at start, to fix message display for some events.

I finally took the time to test your mod on a fresh AACW, patched with the latest patch and (hopefully) followed all your instructions. But I got this

What did I do wrong ?

Nothing. Was a bug. Fixed since a few days...

As no one is according about Johnston's values, I've introduced 3 slighty different versions. From time to time, 2 events fired each creating one Shenandoah army...

BTW, the mod is currently totally unfinished for play against Union AI. I plan to finish this at the end of the next week.

Your NM is very low. There's a serious price for using the most lucrative financial options...

Another try with the same settings ( low aggressiveness, small FOW advantage for AI) :

July 61: First Bull Run

Image

Losses around 10% of the initial forces are the most current results

West Virginia August 61:

Johnston against the Young Napoleon...

CSA AI and blockade at the same period:

Wow that was fast :niark:
Take your time to fix the bugs as this mod looks great.

I know that my NM is very low but I just wanted to raise as many troops as I could and try to win the war soon. Either with my quick win or defeat :bonk: Whatever comes first as this is only my second attempt in playing the grand campaign.
Will play with the union side until the rebs are ready to go.

I'm on holidays next week, so I will get more time to finish the work.

On troops, you will be limited by the low WSU supplies, except if you build very fast a large blockade runners fleet...
