Yes, it earns the Union about $70k. When you capture it you don't see this immediately, the loyalty has to shift to your side. I remember that it was about $35k per turn after a couple of turns in one PBEM where I conquered it.

From AACWWiki:
The loyalty of a region modifies its production of supply and other resources. A region that is 0% to you will halve the production, a region 50% loyal will produce normal amounts, while a region fully loyal to you will have its production boosted by 50%, the formula being

Code: Select all

50% + loyalty

:)

Hi Rafiki!
Very nice info on loyalty. :coeurs:
There were a lot of things I did not know (the cost of the habeas corpus/military control for example). :bonk:
One question about the wiki. When I follow your direct links to the wiki I find a lot of cool info but when I look for something there I can’t find many things.
On the main page one can only find links for half a dozen sections (FAQ, manual, Strategy guide…) but it seems there is much more content “hiding” somewhere. For example, the Reference and overview link only points to a few sections. The loyalty info is not there.
It’s a shame so many good work goes unnoticed :p leure:
Is there a way to see every article on the aacwiki?
Some kind of general index? I think it will be very useful :innocent:

Regards!

The search function is also very useful :)

I haven't found a good way to expose the various content of the wiki; as you're saying, there are some good articles there, but they remain a bit hidden. Jabberwock's link is a good start, though :)

Thanks to both!
The index Jabber posted is usefull but a little "bloatted" by all thos modding parameter entries.
Maybe the normal (I mean not modding related) articles could be added to teh Reference and Overview llink on the main page.
This way thjey will be more easely accesible to new players.

I captured San Francisco playing against AI on Normal setting, and it was quite difficult. Playing on Hard now, as its more of a challange, and cant get near it, as there is a huge Union army in the area that usally probes Housten killing my small units, then dissapears back North thankfully.

Your games sound a lot more challenging then mine.... what settings do you play on?

I play everything normal, no bonuses and am usually building industry like mad in 1861 (I love to 'turtle'), stabilize in 1862 and sweep through the areas I want on 1863, more or less ending the game (well, the challenge anyway).

Interesting. Until now I had always thought about invading California but I thought it was not worth it.

P.S. But isn't the problem for the CSA that it will unlock this huge fleet by attacking SF?

Pretty much just the Hard difficulty setting, and giving the AI more time to make their moves. If you have played pretty much/or only on Normal difficulty, you will certainly notice the major aggresive change, and pressure by the Union early on if you use Hard difficulty. The Union is aggresive around Richmond, and its hard to get out of your capital, because there is always a strong Union army(250-300+ units) nearby ready to pounce for Richmond, so you can never leave it unguarded.

island10-Paducha-Fort Henry&Donalsen - Nashville is constantly probed by another Union army. And there is always a Union army in texas as i said above. that comes south, throws its weight around, then goes back up North every now and then.

Its difficult to make major pushes for objective cities, because you come up against these armies all the time. And even if you win the battle, you have to return to the nearest major city to replenish your forces, or you will incur major element losses with continued fighting.

Its pretty much a case of massing your army+corps, holding your lines when assaulted. Its allot more interesting than assaulting the enemy, although when strong enough, you can afford to give someone like T.Jackson 30,000 men, and cause the Union probelms by catching some of their Divisions that push too far away from support. Thats really rewarding when it comes off.

It still has the modding entries, but they are all in one section.
