Okay, but at the cost of ahistorical, excessively high cohesion/attrition loss? It's how these factors interact, and their overall levels--that's the burning issue.

I really believe problem is tied to a too much high movement cost in clear terrain with good weather. McDowell army before BullRun travelled from Washington to Manassas in about 3 days. Considering both untrainig of the troops and McDowell relative slowiness to strike, I guess this could have been yet quicker.

A good division could travel around 15 miles a day ( Sherman march to the sea rate).

Not necessarly, if you do a very good forced march roll, you move faster without additional cohesion losses.

Two tiny bugs:
- Fulkerson's brigade's icon does not show in the "new units raised" list
- I have built a new ironclad in Richmond (CSS Fredericksburg). Although Lee and Jackson are there also, when I move an infantry brigade there the message states that "X brigade joined CSS Fredericksburg" :tournepas

I do not want to look obnoxious :innocent: , but maybe, just maybe, we are devoting too much time to mud and too few to the AI problems...

An official patch will be done without the tweak to attrition, which is indeed a major effort (for the volunteers team) and would be only an optional rule in my mind (at least for the change on how Historical Attrition work, ie usage of the new CohStanding variable, the 5 new variables tied to weather will not be optional, but they still need some significant work on the terrain matrix I guess).

AI work is planned, but not before some weeks.

This is a 1.09 game, not the beta, but I notice a display error where although both sides have taken casualties, the hits total in the middle displays 0.

Hi runyan99!

The numbers in the middle show the numbers of elements not the number of hits. In your case several elements have taken damage but none was eliminated.

Do you have any idea when the AACW patch without the attrition options will be released?

Cheers

As soon as possible of course. ;)

Sorry, I can't give you any ETA about that as I am (luckily :p ) not involved in this issue.

Patch is now official, with 1.09d tag. The new formulae to calculate the speed of unit has been removed, as it impacts many things and need some time to be refined with your input on attrition and terrain costs. I tend to think people prefer a slightly less realistic game, but working well, compared to a more realistic one, but with features half baked...

So let's give time to time (a french saying rather weird if you ask me...)

Absolutely, Pocus!!! Thanks for the patch.

... And, I like the saying ... it makes sense, if you think about it! Maybe ... ? A little?
