Question about divisions

Thu Mar 06, 2008 11:18 am

And another question:

What decides if a unit can enter/become part of a division? For some reason, some of my generals (the lower, more generic ones) can only take in a few units (say 5 elements tops) into a division while others (the guys with a portrait) can form 'full' 16 element divisions. Am I missing something?

General's can be assigned to (single) brigades directly, which gives you the unit commander benefit for the brigade in question, or you can use the general to create divisions, which in turn can include a number of brigades. There is no way you can gather several brigades under one general without first creating a division.

Aha! That makes sense, I already have the max divisions in the field so all I can do is assign generals to brigades! Didn't know you could do that.

Thank you Rafiki! Good monkey! *gives a banana*

Its a max of 18 elements inside a division, incase you are missing out on some slots there, or put 16 by mistake.

16, 18, what's the difference? I can't count that far with my shoes and socks still on!

Division Upkeep

Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:55 pm

Have a division created and after a battle I have some units, in that division, that are shot up. Want to remove a unit or two and place them inside city with a “passive posture” so they can regain their cohesion a replacements faster (from what I understand is that they do recoup faster). At the same time I want to take another unit in the stack (outside of that division) and replace the unit sent inside the city. How do you do this without disbanding the division and having to recreate the division? It cost $10,000 + 1 cohesion + 5 war supplies to create a division. Once you pay for a division you should not have to pay again just to send a unit from the front lines to the back for some R&R and bring in a unit to fill their shoes. :tournepas

Any thoughts? Answers?

No problem.
You can separate the division, get some units out and another in without disbanding the division. Check it and you will see that after separating the elements, the lone divisional leader still has a grey band under his name. This denotes that he is still a divisional leader and you can attach what you want to him.
As long as the divisional leader has some unit attached to his division at turn end, the division will not be disbanded and you will not have to pay anything to form it again.
Now, the problem is if you want to change a divisional leader for another. For this you will have to pay.
Regards
