Navy Supply

Mon Mar 03, 2008 4:35 pm

Hi all, this is my first post here, although I have been reading through the forum previously for help on occasion.

I havent seen this question asked(as far as i know) and would like clarification on it please, so here goes. On the Econonics panel you can invest in Rail & River transports to (A)move your units efficently & (B) to use the excess units to move your supplies to frontline depots. Now on the main in game screen on the top panel for this area, where it tells you your current levels, there is a 3rd option called Naval supply (i think its called). I have never got this above 0 , and was wondering what i need to do there, if anything ?

Thanks :gardavou:

Welcome to the forums! :)

You need to have transport ships in the Atlantic Shipping Box. However, I'm not sure if that is something that is only available to the Union, which I by your nick and avatar guess that you haven't played much yet? :)

For more info about supply, take a look at http://ageod.nsen.ch/aacwwiki/Supply

Thank you. Yes, it probabley might be only available for the Union side then, as a CSA player myself, as you guessed somehow :mdr: I dont play Union, and i always have CSA transports in the corresponding shipping boxes, and it makes no change.

Putting CSA ships in the shipping boxes will only make them hunt down Yankee trading ships. It won't give you any ocean supply.

Transports are still good to make as the CSA they are a cheap way of building Depots on your Rivers as opposed to Supply units and River Transports imho..

Althought I was beta tester I always tend to forget this :bonk: . Thanks a lot
Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. Making 31 Yankees personally killed, and 30 horses lost...

He remarked, "I ended the war a horse ahead."

I still think that River Transports are a good investment as they can be a cheap way of building depots.

I think River Transports cost 6k more money than normal transports and thats a lot as the CSA but i see a point in building River Transports as a dual purpose to build depots and if you dont need em to build depots at the time you can move troops with them .
