Regions Display name mod

Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:51 pm

In other posts we've found that altering the name of a region inside the.rgn file does not cause any play issues, as long as the alias file remains untouched.

I've started gathering region renames, and input them in a database for use with the mass rename utility from Pocus:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=7394

I'll be glad to gather more inputs and update this....

Renames of regions only please! No 'relocations, structures, etc.'

The utility is pretty straightforward, choose input file, output directory and 'go'.

Of note: the utility seems to work OK if the target directory does not contain all the rgn files, as I was able to target the RR mod with success!!!

Good luck! :siffle:

Proposed:

189: Henderson, NC -> Hertford, NC
201: Halifax, NC -> Pitt, NC
202: Washington, NC -> Beaufort, NC
212: Martin, NC -> Lenoir, NC
213: Craven, NC -> Pamlico, NC
227: Beaufort, NC -> Craven, NC

Note: These are modern county names; I haven't looked at an old map of the area recently.

Beaufort could be confusing: there is Beaufort County (region 202), with little Washington as its county seat; and Beaufort the historic town, in Carteret, just west of Morehead City.

Also 1137 Neuss River -> Neuse River
