Gray_Lensman, you do an astounding job. I am somewhat fascinated by precision in historical events and AACW combined with your work is really a marvel. Now I wouldn't want to complain but the free service of savefile.com where you host your precious files is extremely slow (about 6 kb per sec.....). Is 'nt it possible to find a more convenient host or is my (European) location the reason for this "lag" ? (I have a really fast DSL access normally).
Sorry for disturbing, your work is so remarkable.... and AACW is almost a teaching tool. :dada:

GL,

Please keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, all of my attempts to download the latest (Jan. 3) RR Mod have ended in a corrupt file. Also, the delivery is very slow. Is this a savefile.com problem, or is the file you uploaded perhaps corrupted?

Thanks again!

I managed to dl the latest GL mod yesterday, with no problems (slow, indeed)

Definitely, much better - tested it and was able to dl your file in a couple of minutes, all this way across the Atlantic.
Mediafire seems right :niark:

Gray_Lensman wrote:antidotos, Paul Roberts, and Franciscus please let me know if this helped especially if you are located overseas. I'm located in the US (actually central MO). I'm getting ready to provide this rather large file to AGEod themselves in about 10 days or so and I would like to know if the download/corruption problems are persisting for overseas users. Thanks for your feedback.

This worked very well! Thank you for taking the trouble.

It was a very fast download for me, although I'm in Philadelphia, West Pond.

I haven't had a problem with speed, downloaded in seconds. I'm curious, will your RR mods work with all versions/mods? They are excellent by the way.

Thanks for your efforts Gray_Lensman.
The mediafire link worked much better (about 30kb/sec, not great but good enough compared to savefiles 7 kb and aborted.....). It seems my physical location (France) could have an impact (and the hour of the day....).
AGEOD should really offer you free hosting for your work......

AACWWiki is at your disposal, should you need hosting, Gray Lensman :)

It took me 3.5 hours to download the 24 megs a few days back.

I don't know how many people are in locations without cable but it certainly helps to have small chunks to download rather than one big massive file. I know many rural areas do not have cable.

Also I really appreciate the work on the rails. The changes certainly improves the accuracy of the game.

Gray_Lensman,

Thanks for the quicker download link.

:hat: :hat: :hat:

It only took 32 seconds to download vs. the much slower link

:) :) :)

Little Rock AR - Madison AR Rail Line Removal MOD

Referencing maps found at the following link - http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/gmdhtml/rrhtml/rrhome.html (a copy of which is contained in the accompanying .jpg files located in the Little Rock - Madison AR - 1862.zip file) This rail line did not exist at the start of the Civil War.

Accordingly, I have reworked the graphics (.bmp) files for the regions affected and reworked the corresponding region (.rgn) files to reflect these changes. Note that the small town of "Madison" has been moved adjacent to the river which is its proper historic location.
