Dear Philippe, if you ever decide to design a newer and better version of PAX ROMANA based on AGE engine I would instantly buy it without seeing a demo before.I have the old one together with Great Invasions on my shelves.I prefer turn-based strategy games with ancient, medieval or rennaissance or napoleonic theme more than realtime strategy with WWII or Modern Warfare theme.
I love good and well designed strategy games like BOA or AACW.They have a nice place in my great collection(over 300 games on CD and the same on disks, the latter have mostly fragmentation damages like No Greater Glory so I will never play them again...sigh :p leure: ).
I hope for a game with Seven Years War theme too

a hopeful AGEOD fan

Gives the term "Royal Flash" a whole new meaning, doesn't it? :king:

La non réponse de Philipe voudrait elle dire qu’il veut garder le secret ou qu’il n’a pas encore de projet ? :siffle:

I was flipping through the Pax Romana manual recently and was reminded of how great this game could have been! :p leure: Hopefully, Philippe T. and Team AGEOD will see fit to resurrect the franchise. And the sooner, the better! I have no confidence that EU:Rome will include the type of detailed, historically accurate Political model that made PR so unique.

BTW, I have a question. Are the Roman legislative assemblies abstracted in the game with the Equites representing the Comitia Centuriata and the Tribunes of the Plebs representing the Comitia Tributa?

So, is it correct to say that the more Equites a faction has, the better the chances of its candidates being elected to the major posts in the game(Consul, Praetor and Censor)?

Also, does a high Plebis value increase a faction's chances of getting multiple Tribunes?

I have been known to host some Pax stuff some years ago, try that:

the extended manual.

After reading the extended manual, I was wondering if there is anything(other than bribery) that one could do to make it easier to recruit Equites. For instance, if you were to make proposals in the Senate that the Plutocrats would support(i.e. Low Taxes, Lenient Justice, Repeal of Ager Publicus, etc.), would this make your faction more popular with the Equites?

Will Pax Romana 2 be real-time or turn-based...or both?

Wow, long term view! We have 2 major projects before thinking of a Pax Romana II game (which would have the possibility of handling any ancient era factions not just Rome). And it would surely be based on the current AGE engine, which is turn based. But don't hold your breath, this is 3 years away from now.

Phil, I have been waiting for you to redo this ever since Dreamcatcher ruined the first one.

By all means, use the new engine, but concentrate on Rome, the Greek states, persia and carthage, the major players of the era.

However. Please do a turn based variant this time. Using the Vainglory engine perhaps? The EU style engine was flawed to begin with in my book.

Turn based rules.

English Civil War would be fantastic. Why not even remake War of the Roses, aka Kingmaker?

Our engine is turn-based by essence, so there are no plans yet to revert to RTS engine (which is dropping out of fashion anyway :siffle: )
