Huh? Is this common?

Well it is January of 62 so I am more or less just staying put but way back in Nov. I had a 3 prong approach coming at Richmond. I dropped a decent size Division from New York at Ft. Monroe led by Meager I believe to go along with Butler. They have advanced up through New Kent now with Richmond in their sites. McDowell is coming from the North and Hooker from the west.

So what's the problem? Well no problem but Richmond is DESERTED. I mean, not even a militia is there. Here I am putting all this effort into slowly moving to Richmond looking for the fight of the war (Beaugard, Longstreet and some other general getting trapped in Washington was just a slaughter and didn't hurt me at all so that wasn't really a major fight, just a blood bath) and there is NOTHING just a couple straggling independent units.

Is this common?

Well either it didn't show up (Richmond isn't in the Fog of War and hasn't been for a couple turns) for some reason or he moved in but R.E. Lee is there with 14 units. I don't know ;-)

When you designated Richmond as deserted, what made you reach that conclusion? There has been an issue with flags not being displayed when stacks are in forts, perhaps that's why you didn't see him there?

Well normally you can see the flag and when you put the cursor over the city it will let you know who is there. Richmond was out of the Fog of War as well as the closest city to it. I could tell there was a militia unit in that city but nothing showed up for Richmond but the next turn R.E. Lee and his 14 units as well as another showed up. I didnt' get any closer or anything, he wasnt there and then he was. Dunno ;-)

Absence of FOW means you have 1 pt of detection. Don't think you can see everything with one point, or you are for some surprises, especially in PBEM.
