Gamespot thread

Sat Mar 25, 2006 9:34 am

If some of you want to drop a line on the corresponding gamespot thread (speak frankly, even if some aspects of the game don't please you):

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24461917

This can help us being known... and more exposure = a second game from AGEod. :coeurs:

I am especially fond of the knucklehead who seems to think D.W. Griffith's film, "Birth of a Nation" is actually named "Birth of America" and focuses primarily on the Ku Klux Klan.

Please do not use insults, racists or offensives words in either your user name or on the board.

With that in mind, you can express your disappointment about the game freely.

I think it was a gamespotter revenge for posting on their website...

The Gamespot forum is probably not the best audience for this game.

Its more of a "cutting edge FPS game sort of site" for quick twitch action gamers than a thinking man's strategy site.

Battlefront or Matrix I should think are a much better fit.

But I understand why you would want exposure on GameSpot because it is a large audience.

Anyway, I made a positive post only to have it attacked as a 'plant'. That's to be expected but you do what you can...

In a way it is sad that those kids don't know there are better and deeper games out there. Maybe that's why I go back, 'cause some of them do want learn more.
It is funny how most of the threads are "Do you know of any good games?" or "What is the best game?", 'cause they play the same RTS crap all day.

A note on "gamespotters" though. It is true that a good half of the people there are teen or pre-teen prone to insult anyone not sharing their point of view.
It is also true that a 1/3 of them are people who can like strategy games, at least the Civilization type of games, so there is an audience.

As Son of Achilles points it, we need more exposure, as a good product which is not known result in a failure. So if you can drop a line in some of the fine forums you write in, it can help us starting our second game... And believe me the subject of our next project will please you greatly!

For those really interested in letting BoA known, we will provide some graphical signatures to be attached. This is a common practice seen for example in the Wargamer forums, where you see attached sigs on various games.

I posted an information post (in French) about the game on Webarcherie

http://webarcherie.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9244

It is not a gamer's site, it's an archery website, but many members love indians, most like history and some even play computer games.

Hopefully, a few will be tempted to try it out.

True, my specialty there is the removal of spam posts, thanks to the time difference between Beijing and Paris (I can delete them while the rest of the team is sleeping).

Also anything related to Chinese Traditional archery.

(your BoA engine could also be nice for simulating the Warring States period :dada: )

All 14 members of the wargaming club I belong to now own BoA, and they are all doing a word-of-mouth sales job for you. We all love the game.

I don't know what your future marketing plans are, but I highly recommend that you line up retail distribution in various countries for future releases. In the United States, Wal-Mart alone has so far moved over 10,000 units of Galactic Civilizations 2...

You have done great things to further The Cause, thanks much!

We have some serious contacts for retail distribution. Lets keep our fingers crossed yes ;)

In my experience, finding an intelligent post on the Gamespot boards is harder than finding an honest man in Congress. It's one of the most juvenile communities around.

My word. And two of their posters started fighting each other. Still, it's nice to be reminded why I prefer to visit civillized fora, like Paradox. And this one,of course. :sourcil:

I guess we're just a bunch of n00bs who aren't L33T enough and got ownd. :(

Seriously though, i play some FPS online (mostly the Battlefield Games) but it's people like that who make a lot of gaming lame. Immature and obnoxious people who aren't willing to broaden their horizons.

Exactly and they unfortunately have the power given by the number they are.
And many game companies ( not Ageod of course ) are inevitably seduced by them....or rather their bank card number ;)

OK, maybe I'm confused, but if you can't talk about a new game on the GameSpot forum, WTH is their forum for???

Its not like someone was trying to sell cars or cell phones.

I just don't get it!

You can only talk about games that they view as not "crap". :bonk:

I think the problem was that Pocus posted about BoA. But I also think their forum stinks and you can just not post there :siffle:

the funny thing is that a lambda user, just posting a news, or even a link to the demo of a new game would have not been pestered...
