Hello Jabberwock,

a couple of questions,

If I have this right this file, "temporary fix for the issues with Charles Winder and Felix Zollicoffer" did not make the v1.07 ?

and

And this other file, "Attached Images Army_CSA_BEBee.png (7.3 KB, 17 views)" also needs to be downloaded from v1.07 ?

Thanks and keep up the great work, it is appreciated the time you are putting into these graphics .... :hat: :hat:

Hello,
Thank you.
Yes, these are fixes for the issues we found in v1.07. The version of the graphics installer d/l-able as of Tuesday night still had a problem with Zollicoffer's map image, and created a new problem with Milroy, leaving him completely blank, but Winder and Bee were fixed, and Zollicoffer's unit image showed correctly.
Fixes for all these issues are included in the zip file at the top of this thread.

excuse me Ian , and Jabberwork therefore (i love your work too) , but the work of Sandra was excellent. It's her who gave the Ageod Graphic style. Il faut rendre à César ce qui appartient à César.

Jabber, I enjoy your portraits but I have two suggestions:

1) If you are interested in better 'centering' some of your portraits, I suggest cutting and pasting your new 'heads' on a generic 'body'. It's clear to me that Sandra did this. Many of her generals clearly have the same uniform jacket on, perhaps reversed left to right, on which the general's head has been drawn or pasted. You might consider this for some of your off-center generals like C. Winder, who's portrait is kind of hugging the bottom of the frame.

2) Your colors aren't quite as bright as Sandra's. You might want to try using your graphics program to brighten or increase the color intensity just a few degrees to more closely match Sandra's portraits.

Really Ian, thank you, but speak not such heresy. My goal for this project is to imitate Sandra's style as closely as I am able. I will try to have 62s done by 10/7, 63s by 10/14.

Jabberwock ... I love this mod and the fact that AGEod supports it so much to the point it has become official work by its incorporation into the latest patches ... GOOD JOB!

I don't know if this helps you at all or not but I was B&N today and saw two books there, called "Generals in Grey" & "Generals in Blue" they include hundreds of union and confederate generals ... ALL w/ nice B&W pictures. Maybe you have them ... maybe you can check them out of the library ... maybe you want to buy them for your collection.

Better yet ... Pocus ... buy them for him!

Keep up the great work team!

I love this mod! Thanks for all the hard work. Can't wait to see the rest of them. Many of these faces I have never seen.

I'm hard at work on them this weekend. I know I'm running a week behind what I promised everyone.

Looking at the last batch in-game, Ive realized there were some positioning issues (units showing up too low or too far to the right - due to my accidentally overwriting one of the templates I use and redoing it in a rush). I will try to get that right for this batch, then go back and fix those issues for the previous batch, along with sharpening some images and making skin tones a closer match to Sandra's pics.

I wasn't going to say anything either, because I assumed it isn't proper. But if saying I am DYING for the new portraits counts for anything, let me tell you that I am too.

I don't know why, but I only like to use the leaders with individual portraits, even if another one has better stats. Crazy Huh?

I like G&B for research, and have used a couple images from there. Fortunately, since I am creating (nearly) new images, I don't have to worry about his copyright practices (an image modified by more than 30% from the original is new, by legal definition). Also, Ageod provided me with most of the photos I needed.

I believe it does. I would argue that point in court if I ever wound up in court (I won't, though). There are some people I am aware of who would like to take the G&B guy to court, that's all. I can't comment on the merits of any claims because I don't know the details. I will be careful how I use any images from that site.

I appreciate the historic value of what has been put together there, regardless.

Jabberwock seems to have gone the way of the disappearing modder, and I despair of our chances to get a full set of leader portraits.

Yes it seems so. Who has graphical capacities to take up the gauntlet? :)

This is an interesting project. How much of it was finished and released, and exactly how many portraits remain to be made?

And are we quite sure that Jabberwock is missing in action and not simply suffering from holiday disruptions? Has anyone tried sending him an e-mail?

I'm hoping that if I play around with these images enough Jabberwock will resurface and finish his mod.

I can't really do any serious work on this mod because I'm currently in the middle of something in Real Life (tm) that will prevent me from taking on any more commitments. But I've done a certain amount of graphics modding on similar projects and would really like to see if I can learn to make these images efficiently. If nothing else it will be a nice change from modding flags.

Getting a good trim on a photographic image can be pretty labor intensive if done manually (and properly). I may have to break down and use one of the Photoshop tools.

And does anyone happen to know what filters Sandra, Robin, and Jabberwock were using? I know how to make images with people's heads on them, but consistancy is not only the hobgoblin of little minds, it's also very important for this kind of thing. Mimicing someone else's graphics style is a forger's skill that I haven't learned yet.

Geetings all -
I apologize for my sudden disappearance, and extended absence.

Phillippe, Whatever mumbo-jumbo you were doing worked, thanks! The powers that be finally decided that I was not a serious threat to myself or others a few days back. :bonk:

I have some pictures that were mostly complete back in November, just need some touch-up on the skin tone and sharpness, and I will post them later today.
