Successful Blockade???

Mon Aug 13, 2007 1:35 pm

So if I understand this correctly, when I have a blockade of the Mississippi river (Mississippi Delta hex) or the James River (Ft. Monroe hex), what have I successfully blockaded?

I think that I read somewhere that I have only blockaded that space/hex and not what is "upstream". Is that correct? Will this have no impact on New Orleans or Richmond?

Also, if I capture forts that control the rivers leading to these or other inland ports, what effect will I have?

P.S. Awesome game fellas. I got it this week and have been playing it nonstop.

Basically, yes. To blockade a port, you have to blockade the regions listed as exits for that port, e.g. in the port's tooltip. Blocking further out has no effect.

Thanks, Rafiki. I knew this was going to be a good game when I saw you on the forums. I am still waiting for a game to come out to rival the depth, detail and addiction of Victoria. (Not to take anything away from this game)
