Fort repair

Mon Jul 30, 2007 12:27 pm

OK, you siege Washington, make a breach, assault it. Some heavy fighting ensues and you have won. My question is: why the next turn the fort in Washington is brand new? Shouldn't breached forts be like destroyed railroads or depots, requiring you to spend some WS (lots of WS) to repair/rebuild them? For now the whole "untouched" fort thing is a little gamey IMHO. What do you think?

A breech in a fort is a relatively 'easy' thing to repair once the battle is over. Pretty much it is throwing debris to close the gap. You never really
'repair' a fort to pristine pre-war status, but that really did not affect the ability of a fort to defend itself. Usually breeches were localized and relatively small (the effort to destroy an entire fortress wall would be an impossible task). All you do is shovel dirt and wrecked bricks into the gap, and the wall is as good as new (sometimes better).
