That the two Phils, working for AGEOD (at least so it seems to me from their profiles in this forum), feel responsible for the game they contributed to develop (?), and work to improve it, is great. However, the company AGEOD is responsible for the game, and I hope it allocated them both paid working time to do the amendments they did, even though the amendments done up to now don't suffice.

I think you have helped a lot by hunting down issues, providing saves etc.
But a degree of reality really is needed. Who or what do you think is AGEOD? It really isn't a French Electronic Arts or whatever, its a couple of highly talented French game designers with a deep love for realistic games set in periods that most other companies don't touch. They also, as far as I know, have other jobs.
As above, up to you, but demanding what is never going to happen and getting snippy at people who do try to keep some sort of progress going is not really that useful.
I would dearly love this game to develop to its full potential. I'd probably then never play any other game. But that is never going to happen and we all have a choice. Not contribute and the game will carry on being sold in its current form - I don't know why you think this is unusual, every game company I have ever bought from has a back catalogue of games you can buy that are no longer actively supported. Or try to focus very limited time on the big issues. As I have said on a few occasions to me the only real issue is whether or not PoN can sustain using the WoN diplomatic code - if a solution could be found to that then I think that is as much as ever will be realistic to hope for.
Everything else can be handled by putting together an informal fix of the various moddable game files.
