re raise destroyed brigades?

Hi

So how do I re raise/ can I re raise destroyed brigades?

I fought a series of battels where my CSA army got badly mauled. And as a consequence a lot of my battalions and divisions were destroyed/ whittled down to nothing. So how do I raise them again? I got plenty of manpower and mony and warsupplies to rebuild the army, but I can’t recruit new Virginia, and N and S Carolina units, as these were the ones destroyed.

"When a unit is destroyed, it is returned to the force pool and can be built again."

Perhaps you must wait a turn or so for the units to be available in the pool.

ah. Thanks! Wonder how i missed that when i looked in the wiki. But its been a couple of turns and they havent show back up. I have to let a few more rounds go by then.

The exact way the units become available again isn't stated succinctly. Perhaps Captain Orso can advise?

If a generic brigade that you recruited from the force pool gets destroyed, it will show back up in the force pool immediately.

If a "special" brigade, like the Stonewall brigade, gets destroyed, then it is lost forever.

If a brigade is "whittled down to nothing," but still exists with many elements missing, then you need to have replacements available so those lost elements can be replenished.



Bonus tip: merging two one-element volunteer brigades together returns one of those brigades to the force pool. You can then recruit it again, which is useful.
