Has the AI gotten tougher?

Mon Sep 12, 2016 12:44 pm

Has the AI gotten tougher? I've recently returned to playing after a several month absence. Playing as the Union, I was amazed at how much more aggressively the CSA is now playing (compared to memory of then).

Is this just a figment of my imagination or has the AI, indeed, gotten better?

thanks

Personally I have not noticed any change, but that is just me.

I have the same impression. Maybe its just the current game I'm playing. But it does SEEM like the AI is a little better.

Sooooo, you haven't played for a couple of months and decided to try it out again. Hmmm, you didn't say which patch level you are on (it's on the bottom right of the game window, while the splash screen is showing at startup, or from the main menu -> Credits - it's at the top of the credits window), nor that you've done a fresh install with patch level 1.0x, so I assume you have the same installation as before your pause in playing....

so... there... there can't be a difference between now and back then Image......

It could be an example of what I refer to as the Big Mac Phenomenon.

When I was a kid in the early 80s the Big Mac was a large burger. Over the years it progressively shrunk, until I felt like it only deserved to be referred to as big when sitting beside the (tiny) regular McDonald's burger.

Of course, the Big Mac did not actually change in size, I was the one getting larger....

I know that phenomena. It's actually caused by consuming the Big Mac Image

I'm on Steam, so it's 1.06.1

It crashes the first time (every time) I load, then runs on the second load....

And, yes, the update is installed

All joking aside, it's certainly possible; a few minor tweaks would make her perform a lot better, although I have not heard that any made it into the new patch. I don't have the Steam version and haven't updated because the release thread said it was graphics performance changes only and my current setup runs great. If there were AI enhancements announced I would have already updated.

If you did not play WON for some months, then yes, the AI got tweaked a bit there and there indeed.

Uh, WON or CW2? To confirm, the current CW2 patch has AI improvements?

If so, time to update!

There are indeed, then, some excellent improvements!
