Downloaded Version Vs Cd Version

Mon Mar 13, 2006 3:33 am

I just purchased the game, based on the great comments I was reading. So far, I think I am going to like the game.

I chose to purchase the downloaded version instead of the CD because I wanted to get right into the game. Normally I order CD versions, mostly for the manual.

Having said that, after I downloaded it I tried to burn it to a CD so I'd have a copy for when I upgraded my computer. Clearly, my intent was never to purchase a game that could only be played on this one computer forever. I got the warning when copying it that it (probably?) wasn't going to be able to copy all the files and might not work. :bonk: Henceforth, that is my question. It did not say it would not work, but certainly implied it would not. Does one need to purchase the CD version to have an archived copy for use down the road when the current computer bites the dust? Am I missing something? :innocent:

Thanks guys.

Downloaded file

Bill,

When I downloaded Birth of America, it was 300MB or so exe file that could be moved, copied, ect. Did you try to burn it after you unpacked it from the exe. You should have no problem, I wouldn't think, burning the exe file. I have a backup one on a flash drive.

Hope this helps and I didn't misunderstand your question.
