Could someone help identify the image on this book cover?

While I was searching for a book about the Thirty Years' War I came across this book. Turns out I have a painting of this image hanging for over 20 years... I always thought it was a Conquistador. :bonk:

Sure, it's The Man with a Golden Helmet, by Rembrandt.
Maybe not from the master, but one of his student...

Thanks very much..... I was searching though game leader images and wiki thinking he might be a famous TYW leader. Mystery solved :)
