The game is too buggy

Not even playable at this point. One critical error and crash after another. The latest crash involves advancing a turn and being redirected to the in game starting menu. So I am stuck on the same turn over and over again. I guess I am done trying to play until these problems are resolved. Its a shame because the game looks great too. I am even running the game on the RC patch. No improvement.

I will not gainsay what you have said. However if you wish to continue your current game, I have found as a temporary workaround, that exiting from the game completely and then restarting, reloading or resuming generally allows me to continue to play for a while.

Be sure to be in the latest beta patch, from December 21st. If that's the case and you still have bugs or crashes, then 2 possibilities. If you can reproduce the bug, by running the turn again then that's for us at Ageod and you can post your saved game and logs, so we fix it. If the bug is not reproducible, then that's probably a driver or O/S problem and then you should ask support to check your issue: support@slitherine.co.uk

The guys are working on it I realise that you may not be feeling to generous after spending £35 but there is a fantastic game here we just need to rub off some of the dirt.

WRT crashing to game menu I have found removing backup turns from the save file seems to work....

Thanks for responding. I tried running the game on three different machines, and all of them produced the same result in that it will not allow me to process past turn 3. It starts then simply reverts back to the in game menu. I even started a new games as a different country, same result. If I knew how to post the logs, etc. I would, but I am not tech savvy. Sorry. Its a shame because I was doing really well in turn 2 lol I simply don't know what to do.

Go to my documents/my games/wars of napoleon/ngc/logs and post your main.log from turn 3.

I also might suggest, terminating the game program after executing a turn. It might be a bit annoying, especially if you have installed on a standard HDD as opposed to an SSD, and have rather long load times, but better than the game crashing during execution.

Firstly, if you get a CTD or other crash, you MUST preserve the logs directly after it occurred, because they will be overwritten the next time you start the game program. Archive the '..\Logs', '..\Scripts', and ..\Saves\{scenario}' folders and post them to the forum.

Please don't post text of the logs directly into the forum.

I was asked to post the log, so I did. This is ridiculous to begin with. The game should just WORK. For us non-guru types who haven't a clue in Hades how to do this and do that. Everyone simply assumes we are all adept at this. I appreciate that help and all and I know you mean well, but just forget it I guess. I will just stop playing until the game is finally fixed. But hell, I doubt that will happen anytime soon. As it is ROP, which has been out for 5 years, STILL has big unresolved problems, like the Russian army bug. This is the worst release in terms of bugs in any of the AEGOD games, and it sucks so bad because the game looks great and has a huge potential.

I have experienced tons of critical messages and crashes all the time. It gets old when you are replaying same turn for the third time.
- but since I started saving the game after giving orders, then quitting the game and reloading I have only had to play each turn once - no crashes :)

Seems like there may be some sort of overflow from turn to turn.

I have not noticed that AI behavior is changed due to all the reloading.

I can´t even get past turn 1. One time i managed to get to too turn 2 but alas it crashed in the middle of it.
Lucky i didn´t bought the game, was just trying it out.

Seems that this game is far from finished. Even with all the beta-testing and all it can´t just be fate doing that so many can´t be able to play the game.
Same is with Thirty Year´s War which i bought instantly, it also seems rather unpolished/unfinished.

to be honest the crash bit is really hard because many players like me for example haven't had a crash outside of the first beta patch issues and my own fiddling with the data settings. I have a windows 8 asus laptop with average performance. I am not saying crashes are your fault or that nothing can be done to help you, but I just wanted to let you know that to some extent some of your issues might just be hard to grasp for Ageod, as in they might just not know why it happens because it seems to be stable on many platforms.

The unpolished aspect of the game is of course another matter.
