No cohesion bonus/penalty for cavalry?

Wed Jun 06, 2007 6:17 pm

Normally when you add a unit to a stack commanded by a leader that exerts a cohesion bonus/penalty on their troops, the maximum cohesion value of the added unit changes accordingly. The same happens when putting a unit into a division containg elements with elite status.

I noticed that cavalry units are unaffected by the cohesion bonus or penalty, at least it is not displayed. Is this intentional (i.e. cavalry units act more independently and are therefore less influenced by leaders/other units) or is it an oversight?

Pocus, can you look into this issue please? It's still present in version 1.05c.

You can use the starting setup of the 1863 CSA full campaign to verify the problem: Locate T.H. Holmes' stack in Arkansas (he's a "dispirited leader"). The cavalry unit in the stack has 80 maximum cohesion, and if you remove it from the stack it still has 80. However, all other units gain 5 maximum cohesion if you remove them from the stack.

Sorry for the lack of answer, we are busy as usual and I missed your post.

You are right. For a reason unknown to me, we prevented Cavalry from receiving the adjustments done by abilities changing cohesion. I have edited these abilities and it works just fine now.

If you don't want to wait for the next patch, you can remove the line

ListParams1 in the abilities 45 to 50 and it will do the trick. (ACW\GameData\Abilities folder)
