"You have enough naval combat units to blockade this zone" question

Hello,

Playing as the Union in late 1861 and I have enough naval units in some Confederate coastal zones to perform the blockade s this message appears, but I don't see the actual harbor blockade icon showing up indicating that the harbor is blockaded. Tried to search for the info in this forum, but I can't seem to find out why. Sorry, but it's probably staring at me in the face and I don't see it.

Hover over the harbor icon. Does it list one or two exit points? If two, you must blockade them both. If only one and you have it blockaded, then I have no idea what is going on.

The icon might be underneath your units[SUP]1)[/SUP] or even underneath the city scape[SUP]2)[/SUP]. If I knew which city you're talking about[SUP]3)[/SUP] I might be able to find out your issue.

[SUP]1)[/SUP] Press <Ctrl><4> to hide toggle hiding all unit to see if an icon is hidden underneath any.

[SUP]2)[/SUP] This can occur, but it's very rare and tricky to find. I would have to use a console tool to check this and know where to look.

ArmChairGeneral's reply was the answer. I have a few ports blockaded that have only one exit point, but for others I'm only blockading one of two exit points. Never thought of hovering the mouse over the port itself to see if there are multiple exit points.

How many naval units do you require to do that, is it 4 or 8?
For the rivers, do you need 4 or 8 to block off a portion which will prevent riverine transport by the confederates.
