Battle Lee vs Union Test

Sun May 03, 2015 12:15 pm

Well, I ran a 10 battle simulation of the same battle over and over... Lee vs Rosecrans.

(3-3-4) Union General(with subordinates stacks 160 plus more cannon than me)
(6-5-5) CSA General

Subordinates under Lee, two 4 offensives, 1 offensive 3

Subordinates under Rosecrans, 2 of them had a defense rating of 3... one Corp Commander defense rating of 4. Aprox. 75k on each side

I ran from clear terrain from Manassas into Falmouth. Union entrenchment, 5.

Smith marched side by side with Lee...Johnson(MTSG'd) while the other two marched.

70% of the time I lost. 2 of those times CSA casualties numbered over 50k. 1 time I won, with near even casualties. 2 times I won with near double the casualties of the opponent.

Now with more cannon I added up the math, I don't see this making a huge difference. Just an observation of defense.

Interesting to learn so much about the game this way.
For every Southern boy fourteen years old, not once but whenever he wants it, there is the instant when it's still not yet two o'clock on that July afternoon in 1863 ~~~
