I was sadly not able to tune into the Twitch stream to night but am really curious what the "big" announcement regarding EAW was?
Anyone here that could shed some light on it for me?

The devs hinted that if the sales of this pack are good, more scenarios could come in the future.
As for the gameplay, I see it this way : Ageod has an history of paid scenarios pack and free game update with gameplay changes. A beta patch is currently in RC3 state with gameplay changes and will be available (and needed) for the scenarios pack.
Untill now, we the gamers have only played some 1914 scenarios because nothing else was available. And when you begin in 1914, you don't always go all the way to 1916 or later. With this pack, a lot more players will fight some later war battles. That should give more feedback to the devs about those later battles, and hopefully more free gameplay changes based on those feedbacks.
