multiplayer game compatible with 1.01

Fri Nov 14, 2014 3:38 pm

Hello,

We have an ongoing PBEM campaign going, started at the game's release.

I would like to know if we can continue using the game in its 1.01 version ?

They said you will need to start a new game with 1.01. It will interfere with some events. You can always wait to update your game until you finish. Creating a second folder with a 1.00 version of TEAW is another option. Then you can have both versions.

On a contrary, you can update freely if you started the game with 1.01 beta version. You can even update if you started it with 1.00. Only in that case your ammunition wagons will be depleted since 1.01 increases their capacity.

If you are upgrading, from 1.00 to 1.01, the only issue is ammunition wagons being depleted? Why would they advise starting a new game at the start of the beta 1.01 thread then? I don't think anyone would have a problem with some minor tweaks to ammunition levels. I'd like to upgrade all of my current games.

They advise starting new fresh gamse because they cant test and guarantee that nothing unexpected will arrive with games started from a previous version of the game. That dos not mean it is impossible... Just not supported and at your own risk.

Copy the game folder. The saves will still end up in the same place unless you change a file entry, so no big deal there. The original will update and the copy will stay at v1.00.
