AHH! Frustrating Error

Sun Sep 21, 2014 12:05 pm

I have got Austria to 1892. Now on loading my game this morning every time I press the next turn button it exits to the Main Menu and I get a successful save message. Am I doomed or can this be fixed? :p leure:

Can you please post your Mainlog, VGN/logs folder, generated just after crash ?

Go to your vgn folder then go to saves. When you open save you should see a file with your current game name as the title. Open it and there should be three folders labeled backup 1, 2, and 3. Under those you should see four files from your turn that crashed. They will have tag, hst ,ord, trn as their file name. Delete them and open 'backup 1' file and copy the four files found there and paste them in the place of the files you deleted. This will restore your game to the turn prior to the one your game crashed on. Make sure you are completely out of the game when you do this. I'm not sure if this is the right solution but it happens to me at least once every few days and this gets me playing again. I'm thinking when it saves to go to the next turn something gets corrupted. Back tracking to the previous turn works every time for me. Also hitting the Home key is suppose to send you to the previous turn as well, but I've found it doesn't work because it crashes when you end that turn as well.
