Irish Brigade - questions

Sun Jun 03, 2007 8:39 pm

The Irish Brigade seems to be a free stack of elite infantry.

But does it worth it to keep it like that ?

OK, it's the equivalent of a free Division HQ, but on the other end, if you split it and distribute the different element to other armies, won't they all benefits from the +5 bonus ?

And you get a nice leader too, 3-3-1, there aren't many like this at the beginning of campaign for the Union !

So do you keep it or split it ?

Sidenote: Shouldn't the elite element have their correct NATO symbol once split ?

Where do they get their replacement from otherwise ? The normal infantry pool ?

Is that a bug ?

there are still 2 problems when you split a special brigade like this one, the next update will fix one, the last needing some rework of the scenarios setups.

They need elite infantry replacement, there is a special category for that.

Shouldn't they have the NATO symbol with a star then ?

I mean, otherwise it's easy to overlook they need special replacement, as their NATO symbol is the same as normal infantry...

(OK, strictly speaking, the nato symbol with a star is for a general + this special brigade, but I think it would be easier to use the NATO symbol with a star for elite forces in general, whether they have been split or not).

Hi!!

Look again carefully: they already have the elite infantry icon. :sourcil:
Well, really its a "heavy infantry" NATO icon: The left side of the rectangle is bolder than the rest.
Some cavalry units also have a similar "Heavy" icon.
Cheers!!

Yes, I have seen that, but these icons (Heavy infantry, Heavy calvalry) are NOT used on the replacement screen. You either replace Elite Infantry, Infantry or Cavalry.

I don't thing General Meagher would like is band of would be Irish freedom fighters split up. :niark:
