What Happen With Partisans ?

Tue May 29, 2007 2:10 pm

I have a question , i'm playing the south campaign 1861 June with CSA.
In 1863 at irregular refoircement box its appears the posibility of purchase four partisan's units in the middle american region (Kentuky, Georgia, Missisipi,Alabama , Tennesse) .
When i purchase them, the unit appears in the next turn in somewhere into those states, but in the next turn indepently i have (moved or not ) they dissapear, and i have the posibility of purchase again in the refoircement box.
Anybody knows the reason?
It's a bug?
Thanks a lot and sorry about my bad english

They are supposed to disapear as they are "minutemen", a band of loyal or disloyal (depends on point of view :niark: ) citizens that has banded together and liberated their hometown. Once their mission is acomplished they disband as there is nothing keeping them in the field anymore.

Understand for those that are "raised" by themselves, but when you have the option to purchase them, I sort of think of them as guerrilla units (like the Texas Rangers.....they should at least stay for a season before melting away.

Thanks Koti
I understand that the unit appears in a occupied city and they liberated their own home town, and this is like that when the unit appears automaticly.
But it isn't when i purchase the unit from my irregular box.
They always appears in cities by my own control and in the next turn they dissapear, i can't make pillage whith theirs ,and i think that this is a bug.
The unit dissapear and i lost the cost in money and conscripts without any utility.

Ive found the only way to keep them longer than a turn is to keep moving them...

Also note on several occasions I've raised them, seen them in the dialogue box, but they are nowhere to be found. It's like they disappeared the same turn they were raised. I know they aren't around because they don't show up on the roster for one. Thankfully they are really cheap so it's not a big issue for me but it's still a bit annoying.

problem fixed, you should be able to retain them more (although you get a roll at the end of each year to disband them).
