Which patch is better would you say?

I myself play 1.03e.
I do not read deeply into the issue but the little bit I know, it seems that the patch 1.4 RC2 contain at least one serious bug that makes the play almost impossible.

And it is patch 1.03e not 'd'

I wouldn't use 1.04 for 2 reasons. One the latest version has the 'immortal' garrison bug, whereby the auto garrison for a fort respawns every battle round. This effectively breaks the military game.

The other is that F4 and the B screen become subject to a horrible lag when you are using them. Since these are the core to most game play this becomes pretty hard to live with (for some reason F11 and T work fine). I'm relaxed about the inter-turn processing time but not about spending 2-3 minutes changing production or trade (for each such change).

Its a pity as 1.04 improves quite a lot, especially in the AI's use of the colonial game, but I'd strongly recommend sticking to 1.03e - as Templer says this is complete so you just need to add that to a base game.

Agreedcompletelly, I didn't even tried to play the 1.04 when I heard about the bugs, it's just unplayable.

Changing the subjet a little, Loki why don't you grace my AAR with your nice comments anymore? I'm missing your humour there :(
