Export Cotton Bales - What to Do?

Sat May 24, 2014 4:35 pm

I just fired up my first April '61 campaign as the CSA. I've never played the South; never even peeked at their troops, leaders, stats, capabilities, etc. I'm exploring all my options and noticed the "Export Cotton Bales" RGD. I had a few questions:

1. If I don't use the RGD, about how often do smugglers provide the $50?
2. Is a check for a successful smuggler event made once each turn or less often?
3. Does anyone know what % chance is assigned to this event?
4. The tooltip says the cotton bales can rot at any moment. In this case do I lose all the cards at once or is the number lost random?

Thanks.

A few quick answers:

1. If you play the cotton RGD, you only get $15. If you don't you may get $50.
2. It's once a turn.
3. Don't remember exactly at the moment, think it's like 25% each turn.
4. Every time there is a "rot event", which is like 10% I think, 1 unit of cotton rots, and is removed.

Every time a unit of cotton is sold or rots, it disappears, so the number on the RGD is the number of cotton units you have left.
Remember - The beatings will continue until morale improves.

You can lose more than 1 cotton bale if they rot. I lost 6 in one turn in my CSA game during the first tourney round.
