Yes it is not yet over, but he did not claim that. He said it is pretty much decided which I stated in a private message with him. I am sorry if you see it differently, which might be true if you are able to surprise me :) . No offense in this post intended.

Your post somehow shows your good fighting spirit, keep that up. I think we are able to finish the game in time if we speed up a bit.

Than we play the group out until we all agree to move on to the 2rnd. In PM he has sent me, Guru said he will surely win by VP in yours match.
In my match against Guru I'll surely win on VP, but less than 1% chance of winning by NM.

Round Two Rules

Mon May 12, 2014 9:02 am

Ok players, the time has come to announce the format for the next round!

The #1 players from each pool will have the honor of getting a free ride to the quarter finals and will serve as hosts for this next round.

The scenario to be played in the next round will be the June 1861 for a period of 24 turns (June 61 to June 62). As many have noted, this presents a balance issue for the VP points. Therefore the top USA and CSA player will advance out of this round. The number 2 ranked players will have choice of side.

Here is a tentative bracket to illustrate:

Felix will be getting a ride to the next round. Highlandcharge will be able to select the side he wishes to play. Havi will play the side the #2 man in the A group doesn't want. The top USA and CSA VP scores on each side of the bracket will advance to the next round.

So to be clear, you will be competing indirectly against the other USA or CSA player on your side of the bracket. (If Highlandcharge and D:3 both pick CSA, the man with the most CSA VP from this round moves on).

As you can see, the bracket looks a bit ugly at the moment.... but I'll clean it up as we fill it in with the results of pool play.

No, I have no fighting spirit. Actually I soon lacked it. PBEM makes no sense without the replay feature, especially when the other guy has it.
I concede.

I wish I had had more time at the beginning to get to know the scenario ("Butler ??? What the..." and several more) and to maybe solve the technical issue.

It was nonetheless a nice experience and I appreciate the efforts being made in making it happen. We should do that on a regular basis, just to get more routine on the execution and I volunteer on hosting, even if I couldn't play for lack of time (or if I don't get replay to work).

Well, then this makes groups A-C placings definite:

Pool A:
1) Ace (2-0)
2) Guru94 (1-1)
3) Citizen X (0-2)

Pool B:
1) FelixZ (1-0)
2) Highlandcharge (0-1)
3) Havi (sub)

Pool C:
1) Lindi(2-0)
2) Jim-NC (1-1)
3) Pgr (0-2)

Of course, if you wish to play out your games till trn 24, you are free to do so. If you wish to start 2nd rnd, the matches will be:

Guru94 - Havi (host Ace)
Highlandcharge - CitizenX (or a sub if Citizen decides to leave the tournament because he cannot have replay on his computer) (host Lindi)

The 2nd round will be played using 1.04 beta patch. Guru and and Highlandcharge decide the side they will take.

I don´t know how to use the replay feature in CW2 either. Is it even possible? I thought it was a placeholder or something like that. Can someone explain it to me? :)

Guru94 has excepted my offer and has surrendered in the game vs me. He is pretty much defeated on all fronts, but nevertheless, I doubt I can get 185 NM with the objectives left on map, and with NM auto-balancing on. We have agreed that I deserve "regular" victory for +500 points, in addition to the points aquired in the match so far.
Here are the objective screen and the map with the position of forces in the turn of the surrender (Trn 15):

That raps up all the matches in group A.

Guru, Havi, Highlandcharge and Citizen have confirmed they are ready for rnd 2 Poll A vs Pool B playoff. The matches can start as soon Guru and Highlandcharge declare which side they want.

Round 2:

Guru94_CSA - Havi_USA (host Ace)
Highlandcharge - CitizenX (host Lindi)

Round 1 info:

From the PMs I 've been receiving, it seems moni kerr - Skibear match is progressing slowly. I will use this opportunity to urge the players to speed up and join us in the 2nd rnd.
Also, since there 've been rumors that the host has been slowing them down, I would like to ask FelixZ to take over the hosting of their match and take charge of cathching us up :) . Skibear and moni, please email current save game files to FelixZ.

See you in the next rounds...

Player change announcement

Tue May 20, 2014 8:47 am

I am sad to say Highlandcharge has not responded to my mails to start his game with CitizenX. Since, all Round1 pools have been decided, there was no time for wait any more.
So, I decide to invite raining AACW tournament champion Seraphim to join us in his place.

I am delighted to say that he accepted the invitation, and will be joining us in the 2nd round. Since he is the raining champion, despite missing out on the first round, I think he deserves the chance to pick which side he wants to be in his match with CitizenX. CitizenX, I hope you do not mind the switch. I would be honored to have a chance to play against Seraphim.

So 2nd round pairings are:

Left side of the draw:
Jim_NC - Liberty Bell (host FelixZ)
Seraphim (in place of Highlandcharge) - CitizenX (host Lindi)

winners play Ace and Skibear

Right side of the draw:

Guru94 - Havi (host Ace)
Moni Kerr - Pgr (host Skibear)

winners play Lindi and FelixZ

Pgr will shortly start a new forum thread with the 2nd round tournament brackets.

Good luck to you all!

Ok folks, I am shifting tournament information over to this thread for the next round.

If there are any pool games still being finished, please post the results to this thread so I can do some stat stuff!

(In fact, I would appreciate it if people re-posted their pool game results so I can make a final update to the top of this thread)
