Oh, and I just got a nice idea from it - as I am at war with France anyways, I have a land connection to Spain, so I will use the opportunity to make war without the need for amphibious landing and take Spanish colonies in the peace treaty

as to your update, what else can you expect from Perfidious Albion?
Jim-NC wrote:As to the script, we would need to see what you wrote. Kensai had a script to change non-national regions back to colonial (that was a few years ago). Back with 1.03d, it was very easy for a region to switch to non-national. This was fixed in 1.03e.

And given the Prestige, I am pleased you have NOT won already, cause the increase in goals achieved in the 1880 scenario is really fast for Germany. I guess this happens because without the correct VP gains from SOIs Britain falls behind pretty fast. I wonder how my own campaign will go given that I started with the bug (no SOIs).

You have a % chance each turn of learning that tech, which is independent of any money you are spending. In our MP game, most of the world developed automobiles (except me). It took me almost 4 years to "discover" what everyone else already knew. Maybe 6.
I am perfidious Albion (in an MP game).
I agree with Kensai, that Britain is a pushover in the 1880 scenario, as it has not been able to build the massive PP lead that comes from an 1850 start. From the MP game, Germany and I think the US both have more industrial capacity (due to ruler stats I think). I have coal mines in Britain that I can't exploit. So my industry is limited, I can't even get any steam engines on my farms, so they are stuck at level 1. It's a balancing act.

Kensai wrote:Yes, I know, it would have been worse if you hadn't as in my case. In that case GBR, FRA, and others with some colonies already by 1880 would have been losing the extra Prestige from the established SOIs. I will investigate in my own AAR what happens when the board is clear.
PS. I think for the SOI fix to work one has to restart the campaign with the fix. It won't correct an ongoing game. Or will it?!
