CW II demo?

Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:25 pm

Is there a demo for CW II? If so, where is it located? Can 't find one. I would like to see if CW II will run on my computer system considering CW II requires 1024Mb video card.

I was afraid of that. I can play AJE/BOR, RUS, ROP and BOAII on my computer but I cannot use winter maps for AJE and RUS plus I have to use minimum texture sizes for RUS. My computer has internal graphics rather than a video card. RUS asks for 512MB video card while AJE asks for 128MB video card. CWII asks for 1024MB video card. CWII may be asking for too much from my computer but maybe not.

Here are my computer specs:

Pentium (R) Dual Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5GHZ 2.5GHZ
RAM 4GB
System 64 bit OS
Windows 7 PRO Service Pack 1
Internal Graphics
Intel (R) GMA 3100
Total Available Graphics Memory 256MB (INTERNAL!!)
Dedicated Video Memory 0MB
System Video Memory 64 MB
Shared System Memory 192MB

Anyone with similiar specs and internal graphics able to run CWII?

I run it without winter maps on my thinkpad L512, with specs intel i5 M520 2.4GhZ with 8 GB Ram Win 7 Pro, Intel HD graphics card integrated (more here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-73415). I'm not sure what Intel HD Graphics means, except it is really bad. The only games I play are this, MidTW, and some Paradox Games like EU3 and CK2. I turn down the graphics (and the music, playing my own in the background), but everything goes fine. The laptop overheats sometimes (sad), and mid-game the AI and turn resolution takes at least 2 minutes.

Tripax, your system sounds very similiar to mine but with twice the RAM.

I bought CW II four days ago and only one crash/freeze so far. I am using max everything. And my computer certainly doesn't meet the minimum video standards by a long shot but it is playing nicely.

Glad it works! :)

Great to hear. Yeah, I added the extra RAM with the hopes that I could work with larger datasets in my work. I don't know if it helps, since I do most of my work on a remote computer, but its gone well for me so far. Enjoy the game.

If you have problems, it will be later in the game as more processing is required.

Keep an eye on your frame rate. If it drops much, save the game and exit to desktop before you end the turn.
