speaking about events...is selling of alaska modified so that russians can decide to keep it, if they want - have enough money for war(s) ?

I haven't seen a decisional event for walking that path. We could write such an event in the future. Ideally for many similar situations.

In your Großdeutschland Mod, does AI Italy unify?

I just realised I have built all those forts and the mightiest army around for naught, if neither Italy nor Prussia are going to challenge me (Austria) over Central Europe... the more threads I read, the more it becomes clear I should start over again, and I think your mod would be a good choice :)

Unfortunately, there seems to be some kind of bug with the German and Italian unification when done by the AI. This has nothing to do with my mod and will probably influence it the same as vanilla. If you are for the challenge, if you can read the events that did not fire properly, I can help you force them.

Uniting Germany under Austria withOUT Italy forming too would decrease the challenge and fun factor. An Austrian Germany will already be too powerful, at least you should get a run for your money. ;)

if you add the events from file to the Italian unification folder then you should see an AI Italy appear. The problem at the moment is getting the 1865 alternative event chain to work depends on the AI playing the regional unification cards and it seems to only do that on Lazzio (Rome)

Well I just thought since loki has a script to fix the event chain for Italy, you might have incorporated it in your mod...? :)

to be fair, we have very different aims.

Kensai has put together a complete mod, with images, and proper pop-ups to allow full exploration of an interesting 'what if. All I've done is to make an in-game chain work by a fix ... the best of course would be to get the AI to play the unification cards in a structured manner but that would need some work on the code. Even if the vanilla game works, Kensai's mod remains a valid elaboration on the game.

but we do need, among other things, to try and get all the working parts of the new events into a form where people can easily find them and use the key ones ... :cool:

Sorry, I am fully aware that one is a mod and the other just a fix - actually I'm just being lazy, and most probably too stupid to alter script myself, so I tried a not so subtle hint to get someone else to do the job for me ;)

I don't even so much care for a structured manner, as long as I get a bit of a challenge by a greater Italy instead of those powerless mini states as a result.

Q-Kee,

my mods (and any mods for that matter) should be applied to a vanilla game. If there are other issues with events, then they should be addressed with their own mods again against a vanilla game. This way we make sure we all work against a common denominator, so to speak, and improves compatibility.

Nothing stops you from putting loki's Italian fix to your game files. It should be compatible. :)

I am now playing the mod. It works as advertised :)

I have added loki's file, and also the hotfix for the heavy HQ bug - however, troops still refuse to fire at range if a guard HQ is present (no matter on which side). Anyone can give me a hint what I might have done wrong? I thought it was simple, delete models.cache and paste the files from the hotfix... :(

the problem is that 1.04 brings some good things - esp for AI behaviour, but 2 bad things. One is the immortal garison bug (ie you or the AI will never take a province by siege) and the other is a long lag using the F4/B screens. The latter you can live with (its just a bit frustrating).

So on balance, I ended up back on 1.03e - I think for the moment there isn't really much choice in the matter.

As 1.03e seems to be 1.03 and 1.03d in a neat package according to the opening post, you can probably enjoy the same fixes by downloading 1.03 and 1.03d from here: http://www.patches-scrolls.com/pride_of_nations.php

Thanks. Not sure why the best patch should be so hard to come by, but oh well.....

1. how it is progres of sending new/updated event so dev team to integrate them to new patch ?

2. any info about new 1.04 patch ? latest 1.04 bring few very nice additions and i dont want to revert to 1.03 and my heart hurts when not playing pon.

Seems like 1.04 was great apart from one bug. How hard could it be to fix? Hope they'll get around to it. I still think this is a great game.

BUMP ... no news? I hope to new patch still ... we are playing preview version like muplitplayer, but we are forced let many things how they are or "repair" it by scripts, which are making maybe worse ...

What fred zeppelin said .... 1.04 was perfect except the invincible garrison bug. Can't be too hard to fix that one ...

Get the update here:

ageod-forum DOT com /downloads/latest/

The 1.03e update works fine with the steam version, I imagine the 1.04rc2 version does also. Simply install it to your Steam\SteamApps\common\Pride of Nations
folder where the steam version of PON is installed. Then create a shortcut for LauncherPON.exe and place it on your desktop, as the existing Steam PON shortcut won't work.

The latest PON manual appears to have disappeared from the download links unfortunately.

i have one question/request for moding :
it is posible to create checks if certain tech is researched and add event which can fire once is reserched, based on some conditions ?
say you research tech which generaly "improve" freedomship/democracy among general population...but it basicaly have no effect on population (except changed modifiers for that and that) - what i want is when you reserch free elections you get chance (based on currrent goverment type) for event which use it.
If you have contitutional monarchy, then press for more freedom will not be so hard so chasnce for event demanding changin of your internal polici will be low, but otoh if you are cruel abolute monarchy, then chances for lifting some restiction are much more likely and as ruler you can eighter accept them and change your policy....or face revolution/uprising :)
firing of event will be random, but you can fire that decision manualy if you think that time is right (from f4 screen ? or f2 which will be better?).
what i want is basicaly bring rusia to 1905 revolution goverment changes without actual civil unrest :) or meiji restoration to japam, just little earlier :) .

I haven't see anything mentioned here beyond 1.04.
Yet, a few weeks back I noticed my Steam version thought it was 1.05.
Didn't think much of it at the time. Guessed it may have been something related to parting ways with Paradox.

At the moment though, it's auto-updating, but still no news here. Odd.
