Charge, disrupt ability for Cav?

Sun Mar 02, 2014 7:00 pm

Do Cav have these attributes like in some other games or are these rules not used in CW2? Not been able to find any info one way or the other. If they do, what models counter the abilities?

Cool, this is in line with Allen Guelzo's "Gettysburg: the Last Invasion" observations on page 40 (a secondary source and from a popular work at that, but still) when he states that Cav in the Civil War were rarely used for direct combat against infantry. This would make sense since Charge simulates Heavy Cavaly operations to break a line and Disrupt simulates Lancers running down routers, both of which are more applicable to European tactics of the time than to Civil War tactics.

There are options in the Battle Planner however, including Cavalry Charge, Harrass Communications, and Cavalry Screen, which modify factors such as frontage and attack values. Not sure if, or how many, cavalry units need to be present for them to be available..
