Promotion leader's

Wed Jan 15, 2014 11:17 pm

Hi! I have a question for promotion.

Why to promotion leader should be placed in a separate stack and an opportunity to promote available only one turn. What's this arguments?

Thank you

I had this question also. My answer was that the game engine could only promote the leader of the stack. I lived with that for a very long time and accepted the risk of a division commander hanging out on his own.
My new reason, and it may be wrong, promoting a lower lever leader means separating him to give him this honor. I know this still does not answer your question, why must he leave his army or corps? Changes can only be made when the army is safe. Final reason.

This really is a great question, to which my answer does not even satisfy me.

This has been a problem for players since AACW.

I think the devs are looking into something different but other demands may have slowed them down.

All we can do ATM is take lower ranking leaders out of the stack to promote them, for now.

That is a technical problem, and not the idea of the Ageod?

Yes, there are some technicalities here, that's not design decision. But did you try in CW2 to leave a subordinate in a stack and promote him, by first clicking on him (and only him selected) then hitting the promote button? It works normally.

Yes, problem of only a few leaders in the same stack. Opportunity to promotion only one turn technical problem too?

It plans to fix it?

Theoretically yes, but we already have our plate full for next patch.

This problem can wait. ;) It is not critical, but sometimes interfere.
When to expect the next patch?

In another thread Pocus said:

Next patch will be released in February, I can't say at the beginning or at the end though.
